We know… That a society is a group (or community) of people that work together toward a common goal. Institutions exist within societies that work to meet the needs of the people. There are people within societies that help, guide, teach, and heal.

What is a society A society is a community with agreed upon customs and organization.

What is an institution? An institution is an organization, establishment, foundation, or the like, devoted to the promotion of a particular cause or program, especially one of a public, educational, or charitable character. Examples: Hospitals Churches Financial institutions Police and fire departments Schools Prisons Economy Government

Government Government is an example of an institution, and can be defined as: The group of people who make decisions for a country or state.

What is a civilization? A civilization is an advanced state of development in a human society. In other words, it is a well- organized and developed society.

worldview Every society holds a unique worldview.
A worldview is a collection of beliefs about life and the universe held by an individual or society.

So, what does a society consist of?
A group of people with interpersonal relationships, that Share the same geographical or social territory or area, and Follow the same political authority (laws), Have a distinctive culture, and An identifiable set of values, who Have organized a variety of institutions for the benefit of members of the community, and Follow an identifiable worldview that is reflected in the structure of relationships, political authority, culture, values, and institutions.
