Three short tales - Kirklevington Grange Car valeting & café – open 7 days per week Sells horticultural products, logs, iron work Café expanded and meeting room Internal coffee shop opened Links with Care Home and with local groups Sells merchandise from other prisons Farm shop opened nearby based on trade generated Conference – Manchester – 23rd November 2016

Three short tales - Durham Already selling some wood products through joinery workshop Able to sell to Kirklevington and through other outlets Produces own catalogue ‘Judge and Barista’ Coffee Shop opened at prison gate Developing plans for two themed social enterprise coffee shops on outside in partnership with other agencies Conference – Manchester – 23rd November 2016

Where next? Continue to pioneer and refine model of social enterprise within prisons Await Cabinet Office approval and Review of Education in Prisons and respond accordingly - either act on ‘spin out’ plan or operate with social enterprise values within NOMS structures Establish appropriate governance processes Further develop product ranges to expand opportunities and increase sales Use VBIC to provide feedback and analysis Create intermediate labour markets to aid progression Measure the Social Impact so far – evidence based practice Keep the faith ….
