GOD IS THE AUTHOR OF YOUR STORY Psalms 139:14-17

THE BIG IDEA: God is the author of your story and wants you participate in what He has written for you.

“I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made
“I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well. My frame was not hidden from you, when I was being made in secret, intricately woven in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed substance; in your book were written, every one of them, the days that were formed for me, when as yet there was none of them. How precious to me are your thoughts, O God! How vast is the sum of them!” ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭139:14-17‬ ‭ESV‬‬

Metanarrative: The story connected to the one who writes the story-the author
Macronarrative: Our story in relation to the human story- finding our purpose Micronarrative: Our personal story---Focus on our own self

“But, as it is written, "What no eye has seen, nor ear heard, nor the heart of man imagined, what God has prepared for those who love him"— these things God has revealed to us through the Spirit. For the Spirit searches everything, even the depths of God.” 1 Corinthians‬ ‭2:9-10‬ ‭ESV‬‬

In 2017, What do you see? What do you hear? What's in your heart?
The metanarrative should drive what we see, what we hear, and what’s in our hearts. Therefore, our desires should come from the metanarrattive that God has prepared for us.

“Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him, and he will act.” Psalms‬ ‭37:4-5‬ ‭ESV‬‬ The desires of your heart should match the author of your story. We are asking for things that are not part of our story. Our desires should match the story God has for us.

Everything we do, should reflect the author of our story.

God’s story for our life is not about others believing in us, it is about us believing in Him. (Believing in God means to delight and have faith and to trust in His plans) The more you believe in Him, the more you will accomplish the story He has written for you.

“And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.” ‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭11:6‬ ‭ESV‬‬ The story God has for you requires faith and should always point to His existence.

“looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.” ‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭12:2‬ ‭ESV‬‬ The most important evidence for God’s existence can be found in our personal experiences.

“Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.” ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭23:4‬ ‭ESV‬‬ Despite what may happen in your life, God is with you.

The purpose of His story for you is to show you how much you need Him because your story is part of a bigger story.

How does God’s story for our lives unfold?
It's when we understand that deep down inside of us, there's something bigger than us going on. It’s when we believe that God has prepared our life and has written our story.

As we journey through 2017, God wants us to experience His story for our lives. Will you allow him to write your story? Will you allow Him to change your story? Will you let today be the starting or turning point for God to author your story? THE BIG IDEA: God is the author of your story and wants you participate in what He has written for you.

Prayer: Father, I thank you that you have written a story for my life. I ask for your forgiveness if I have put my own story before Your story. Today, I align my life with Your story for my life. It is my desire to fulfill Your story for my life and ask that you reveal to me the next step in Your Divine plan for my life.

I chose to commit and follow this plan because I know Your story is what’s best for my life. I place my faith, my hope, and trust in Your story for my life. Help me to live out Your story and to point people back to you. In Jesus Name, Amen!
