Examine a habitat around you. Create a list of habitat resources you see (food sources, shelter, etc.).
Get on Dreambox for 20 minutes.
Visit the library and check out some fables, myths, and folktales. Read them with a family member.
Draw a design for an ultimate birdhouse.
Write a fable. What moral does your fable teach? Bring your fable in to read to the class.

Explore the different types of birds and read about their habitats. List interesting facts.
Use a camera or phone to take pictures of birds you see around your neighborhood. Try to identify what types of birds they are.
Read for 20 minutes in a quiet spot. At the end of 20 minutes, write at least 3 sentences to retell what you read.
Construct a bird house and bring it in to school. Here’s one idea:
Practice your recorder. Perform a song for someone at home.
Write a division word problem. Bring it in for your classmates to solve.
Explain how winter weather can have an effect on the habitat resources (food, shelter, etc.) available to animals.
Get on Edutype for 20 minutes.
Read for 20 minutes with a grown- up. Take turns reading a page. Talk about your favorite parts of the book.
Construct an array using an everyday object in your house (buttons, cotton balls, etc.). Write the related multiplication and division sentences for your array.
After reading a story of your choice, draw pictures to retell the story in sequence.
Find a square or rectangle shape object. Measure the length and width with a ruler or measuring tape. Find the area using multiplication (l x w).
Help a friend solve a problem he or she is having.
With a parent’s help, send a friendly or text message to a friend or family member that you haven’t seen in a while.
Read a book with a friend. Take turns reading the pages.
Use recycled materials to create a gift for a friend (use a can to make a pencil holder, create a new toy, etc.)
Write a letter to a friend and tell them why they are important to you.
Get together with a friend to practice your multiplication flash cards.
