1st Oct 2011 = 17,589 30th Sept 2012 target = 19,179 30th Sept 2012 actual = 21,301 Increase of over 3700 and the 4th highest growth in the country Achieved by: Easier sign up process – Bulk sign up Improved promotion to players in schools events 7

Supporting Measures Facilities
Target = Create 10,000 new playing hours Actual = 13,140 new playing hours New P2P Target = Increase registered P2P from 75 to 77 Actual = 6 new P2P (81 in total) Beacon Sites Target = Support existing community sites and increase by 1 Actual = 1 New site accredited at Harpenden Sports Centre Clubmark Target = Support 1 additional P2P to achieve Clubmark and improve quality of output form existing Clubmark programmes. Actual = No new sites accredited. Regular F2F meetings held 9

Local and New Projects Girls Project – Aim to attract more girls into tennis . Successful pilot run at St. Albans LTC. Festival Day/Girls Squads. Development of the female coaching workforce. Active Universities Project – Introduce tennis to students via delivery of Cardio Tennis and Tennis Xpress. Hertford Regional College – established an annual plan introducing tennis into the college curriculum and developing the student workforce (Tennis Leaders, Competition Organisers, Level 1’s). Oaklands Disability Tennis Programmes – Work with the Regional Disability Officer David Hardman to establish a hub site for disability tennis within the county (Gosling/Potters Bar). Focus 2012-13 Key Focus: Increasing Participation
Strategy to be defined in the Whole Sport Plan for Tennis to include: Working with both traditional and non-traditional tennis providers More focussed approach in designated areas Adopting a participant focussed approach to ensure programmes meet the needs of the local population 11

Regional and National players
We have 11 Regional and National players in 10 and under category in our county. 7 players achieved National standard and 4 Regional coming from clubs including Batchwood, Gosling Sports Park, Berkhamsted LTC and Langley Tennis Club We support the players with regular player visits, regional training camps that take place every 8 weeks as well as attending as many of their tournaments as we can. 13

Regional and National Talent ID Days
Regional and National ID days took place in September. A Matrix player is a player identified as a performance player through several physical and tennis tests as well as competition results. They are awarded with some funding to go towards developing their tennis 11 players from Hertfordshire from 8U , 9U, 10U are awaiting to hear if they have been chosen as a matrix funded player. 14

We are looking for coaches to nominate players that have: Good athletic base: speed, agility and coordination Tactical skills and game instincts Technical potential Mental abilities including: determination, competitiveness and focus Next County Talent ID day will take place on the 13th January 2013 at Letchworth Sports and Tennis Club 7U Players on Red Court 8U Players on Orange Court 15

Competition Oliver Tarvet – won a grade 2 at Bournemouth and 4 grade 3 tournaments Sophia Underwood – won a grade 2 at Bournemouth and 10 grade 3 tournaments Indianna Spink – won the grade one Summer National Tour Finals and came runner up in couple of grade 2 tournaments Joshua Ben – won a grade 2 at Solihull and came runner up in Nottingham 16
