Epson mobile and cloud print services “Freedom to print and scan anywhere” What are mobile, cloud and Wi-Fi print services? Mobile and cloud print services allow users to print from mobile devices, such as laptops, smartphones and tablet PCs, in practically any location. These services are split into two categories – Epson services, and third party services compatible with Epson products. Epson services: ‘Epson Connect’ is the umbrella name for the mobile services Epson provides. There are currently two services – Epson iPrint and Print - with two more added in September 2012 – Epson Remote Print Driver and Epson Scan-to-Cloud Third party services: two third party mobile/cloud services are supported by selected Epson products - Apple AirPrint and Google Cloud Print. Mobile and cloud print services Epson Connect Supported third party services Epson iPrint Print Epson Remote Print Driver Epson Scan-to-Cloud Apple AirPrint Google Cloud Print Local versus remote Mobile and cloud print services can be split into ‘local’ and ‘remote’. ‘Local’ means they can be used over a local wireless network only, whereas remote services can be used anywhere in the world as long as the mobile device is connected to the internet. The Remote Print Driver allows you to print documents and photos remotely via your computer’s printer driver, offering more flexibility to customise your print jobs, while Scan-to-Cloud enables you to store scanned documents directly in Cloud services. Print Use to print to any compatible Epson printer, anywhere in the world, from your mobile device or computer. All you need is the address assigned to the Epson Print-enabled printer. Print A4 and A3 documents up to 20MB in size, and store print jobs for up to 72 hours. Epson Remote Print Driver With the Epson Remote Print Driver, you can print from anywhere in the world with greater control over your print jobs. Send documents or images, via your computer' print driver, using the driver's many printing options, including page layout, number of copies, margin size and much more. Epson Scan-to-Cloud With Scan-to-Cloud, scanned files are automatically uploaded to Cloud services, making sharing and storage easy. You can also scan directly to an address or another Epson Connect enabled printer. There’s no software to download, no drivers to install and no cables to connect. With just a few taps, you can go from viewing something on screen to holding a printed copy – it’s that easy. Who would use Epson Connect and why?
Epson mobile and cloud print services “Freedom to print and scan anywhere” Who would use Epson Connect and why? Epson Connect has services suitable for both business and consumer markets. Here you can see examples of how business markets and consumer markets could use each service and why. Service Business Consumer Epson iPrint Ideal for printing last-minute reports from your smartphone or tablet PC, or when you don't have time for your computer to power up before a meeting. Epson iPrint is a great way to share photos stored on your smartphone. This free-to-download app is so simple to use, family and friends can connect their smartphones to your printer and share their photos Print 1 – Hotels, tourist information centres and other hospitality services can provide customers with the opportunity to print important travel documents, ticket reservations and even coupons at reception. By giving customers access to your Epson Connect printer's address, they can collect printouts before they depart for their flight or evening's entertainment. 2 – If you are travelling to an important meeting you can quickly documents directly to the office printer, ensuring they will be ready for you on your arrival. 1 – You can print travel documents, ticket reservations and even coupons while travelling back home, ensuring they will be ready for you on your arrival. 2 – While away on holiday or travelling, you can send photos to family and friends to their Epson Connect printer to share your experiences. Epson Remote Print Driver While working away on business trips, or just away from the office, you can print reports, presentations and other important documents easily with greater control. Not suitable for the consumer market Epson Scan-to-Cloud 1 – Businesses can use cloud services to store and centralise all their documents for staff to access wherever they may be, on whatever device they may have. Epson Scan-to-Cloud allows them to scan, archive and share any business documents they have. 2 – Businesses can simply scan and send documents directly to addresses of any other Epson Connect printer. 1 – You can scan old family photos and household documents to Cloud services for safe-keeping. 2 – Scan photos and send directly to friends and family

Communication guidelines Epson services: use ‘Epson Connect’ when referring to Epson’s mobile print services, rather than listing ‘Epson iPrint’, ‘ Print’ 'Epson Remote Print Driver' and 'Epson Scan-to-Cloud' separately (for longer copy, these services can be referred to separately after Epson Connect has been mentioned). Third party services: describe compatible Epson products as ‘AirPrint-ready’ and ‘Google Cloud Print-ready’. Make sure it is clear that Apple AirPrint and Google Cloud Print are not services provided by Epson. General Do not reference service(s) which are scheduled to launch after a compatible Epson product launches.
