2 Biography Louise May Alkott was born in the city of Germantaun, Filadelfiya's staff. She was the second of four daughters of the writer Eymos Bronson Alcott. When the girl was two years old, the family moved to Boston.

3 Literary career Because of a family distress Louise Alcott early started working (I was the governess, the teacher, the seamstress). Since the childhood I was fond of literature, I composed small stories and fairy tales, I wrote plays for private theatricals. In 22 years Louise wrote the first book "Fables about Flowers".

4 Literary career In 1868 the most known and popular book of Alcott — "Little women", narrating March about a growing of four daughters of a family was published: Mag, Joe, Beth and Amy.

5 Family Louise May Alcott was never married. In 1879, after death of her sister Mai, the writer took the two-year-old niece Louise on education.

6 Death The last years of his life Alcott was ill. She died in Boston, May 6, 1888 of mercury poisoning.
