The red rose is the symbol of England
The red rose is the symbol of England. It comes from the history of the country. This symbol goes back to the War of the Roses, which was the war within the country. In the 15th century two Houses were struggling for the English throne — the Lancastrians and the Yorkists. Red rose was the emblem of the Lancastrians and the white rose was that of the Yorkists. Their rival ended when King Henry VII, the Lancastrian, married Princess Elizabeth, the daughter of the Yorkist. Since that time the red rose has become the national emblem of England. An oak is also depicted as the national symbol of the country.

every country has its own symbol. Red rose is the emblem of England
every country has its own symbol. Red rose is the emblem of England. The flag of England is the red cross of st. George.

Thistle is a prickly-leaved purple flower which was first used in the 15th century as a symbol of defense. The thistle has been a Scottish symbol for more than 500 years.

The thistle emblem cropping up all over Scotland, from the international rugby team’s strip, businesses and organizations to the emblems of police constabularies and football teams. In truth, no-one knows, but legend has it that a sleeping party of Scots warriors were saved from ambush by an invading Norse army when one of the attackers trod on a thistle with his bare feet. His cries raised the alarm, the roused Scots duly defeated the invaders, and the thistle was adopted as the symbol of Scotland. Unfortunately, there is no historical evidence for this, but Scots, like other nations, love a good story.

The national flower of Wales is the daffodil, which is traditionally worn on St. David’s Day. The vegetable called leek is also considered to be a traditional emblem of Wales. There are many explanations of how the leek came to be adopted as the national emblem of Wales. One is that St David advised the Welsh, on the eve of battle with the Saxons, to wear leeks in their caps to distinguish friend from foe.  As Shakespeare records in Henry V, the Welsh archers wore leeks at the battle of Agincourt in 1415.

However, the humble leek is also considered to be a traditional emblem of Wales, because its colors, white over green, echo the ancient Welsh standard. The national flower of England is used, for instance, in the emblems of the English Golf Union and England national rugby union team. The national flower of Wales is worn on St David's Day each 1 March. (In Welsh, the daffodil is known as "Peter's Leek", cenhinen Bedr.) On St.Patrick’s Day all Irishmen and their friends – (it has become a highly political holiday) wear shamrock in their button holes or on their hats.

The national flower of Northern Ireland is the shamrock, a three-leaved plant similar to clover. An Irish tale tells of how Patrick used the three-leaved shamrock to explain the Trinity. He used it in his sermons to represent how the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit could all exist as separate elements of the same entity. His followers adopted the custom of wearing a shamrock on his feast day.

Anyone who sees this three-leafed plant automatically thinks of Ireland. The shamrock is a three-leafed clover that grows abundantly in Ireland. Some people say that St. Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland, used the shamrock to spread Christianity in Ireland, since the three leaves of the plant could represent the Holy Trinity. Other people say that the shamrock and the number three were considered magical in Celtic tradition, so this plant was believed to bring good luck.
