Family and Community Engagement (FACE) Department Jorge Luis Arredondo, Ed.D. Assistant Superintendent of FACE

2 Time Spent At Home and School
Time spent in school is a fraction compared to time spent at home. Student achievement will not be realized if it is kept within the walls of your campus. Calculations are based on: 7.5 hours of instruction 10 sleeping hours 175 days per school year Learning happens everywhere. We need to remember that parents are the first and most important teachers in their child’s education. Emphasize to participants that schools are not able to achieve sustainable academic success when they are working in isolation. Administrators and teachers should consider implementing strategies to effectively engage families in their children’s education.
