27 Tips & Troubleshooting
Why is my iPod® not streaming songs? If your iPod® is not connecting to MyLink, try plugging in the USB cable supplied with the device into the USB port. Your music should now play. Why won’t the music apps work? If you have an Apple® device you must connect it to the USB port with the USB cable (supplied with the device) and the app is operational on the device/ iPhone® If they still don’t work it may be necessary to re-start and re-connect the device. Note: Different iOS versions can affect how your Apple® device interacts with MyLink. Android devices will work through the Bluetooth® connection provided the app is operational on the device/smartphone. You must also have created your playlists prior to pairing to MyLink. These playlists must be created via your device/smartphone. Why won’t songs play off my USB file? Music file formats supported by MyLink include .mp3, .wma, and .ogg file name extensions. iPod® and iPhone® are also supported. Why can’t I view pictures or movies while driving? (Text only) The view pictures and movies function will only work while your car is stationary. This is to reduce distractions while driving. This function only applies to the Text based version of MyLink. What file formats are supported for images and movies? (Text only) File formats supported by MyLink include AV1, MPG, MP4, DIVX, XVID and WMV. This function only applies to the Text based version of MyLink.

28 Tips & Troubleshooting
Why can’t I see the Text Message icon on my MyLink screen? (Icon only) You may need to activate notifications in your phone prior to using the Text To Speech function. Ensure that ‘Show notifications’ is switched on in your device’s Bluetooth® settings. The messages icon will then appear when the device is reconnected and after the ignition is cycled (off and back on) Why can’t I reply to text messages through the Text To Speech function? Not all smartphones are compatible with the ‘Reply’ function of this feature. If you have an Apple® device you cannot select this option on screen. Despite this, Apple® devices running iOS6 or higher can use Siri® Eyes Free mode to create and respond to text messages instead. Why won’t BringGoTM maps download? (Text only) The BringGoTM map download is a 1GB file and must be downloaded via a Wi-Fi connection. It may take some time for this file to download depending on the speed of the connection. Why won’t enhanced voice control function on my MY13 Malibu? This feature was only recently introduced to MY14 Malibu as outlined in Marketing bulletin 198/14 – 1st September 2014 For assistance and more information on Holden’s MyLink refer to:
