6 Registering with PeerWise: Joining Message
This term we will be using PeerWise as a place for you to create, share and evaluate assessment questions with your classmates. Start by visiting PeerWise here: If you have not used PeerWise before, just click the "Registration" link and follow the prompts. All you need to do is choose a username and a password for your PeerWise account. If you have used PeerWise before, simply log in and then select "Join course" from the Home menu. To access our course, "T-TEL 2016", you will need to enter two pieces of information: 1) Course ID = ) Identifier = Please enter your identifier for this course (provided at the start of the session)

7 Joining PeerWise as an Instructor
The following slides will show the process for signing up to PeerWise as an Instructor. The Instructor account will allow you to create new courses for your students.

8 Scroll down the page and select “Request an instructor account”

9 Complete all the required information in this form and click the Request Instructor Account button

10 Check your email for the code to confirm your account and enter it into the next page.

11 Now PeerWise will be in touch with your username and password combination.
This can sometimes take over a day so be patient and plan ahead.

12 Once you’ve received your username and password, return to the PeerWise website…
peerwise.cs.auckland.ac.nz …and enter your Institution name into the field at the top of the homepage

13 Enter your username and password from the email into the highlighted field.

14 Done! You’re ready to make courses by clicking on the Create new course button. You can also join other courses if you have the course codes

15 Unique Identifiers and Course IDs
Course leaders need to create unique identifiers for students to join the course with. Typically this will be there University username, student number or address. The Course ID is pre-set when you create your course Course ID is not the same as the Course Name. You need both the Unique Identifier and Course ID to register as a student for the first time Once Registered a student can join as many courses as are available to them

16 Administrator Identifiers & Student Identifiers
The administrators and instructors can add new identifiers They can add Administrator and Student Identifiers If a student signs up with an Administrator Identifier, they can add new identifiers and manage the administration of the course. To manage identifiers click here …then here.

To manage and set up identifiers click on either – Edit administrator identifiers Or Edit student identifiers Manage Identifiers

18 Manage Student Identifiers
Follow the on screen instructions to manage the student identifiers.
