To encourage and support all women of the Diocese in a fellowship of worship, study, and offering, with the aim of deepening and strengthening their individual spiritual lives and of awakening a greater desire for Christian service in the parish, community, and the world. Women organized for ministry and leadership may use a variety of titles for the name of their organized women’s ministry group, but regardless of which title, women offer their ministry and leadership in both the church and the world. And, the Anglican Church Women NS Board is there to encourage and support women in a healthy expression of their gifts and talents. Let’s look at a few ways this is done. It’s About MORE

5 . It’s About MORE Did you know that the Anglican Church Women NS Board . . . sponsors and promotes an Annual Project (one year with a local focus, another year with a national focus, and a third year with an international focus)?

6 . It’s About MORE Did you know that That the 2015 / 16 Annual Project, with a local focus, Ability to Live with Spirit brought in $16,000 to support those living with ALS, through the equipment loan program of the ALS Society, and . . .

7 . that the funds raised were to honour the Life and Legacy of
that the funds raised were to honour the Life and Legacy of Verna Munroe in loving memory of her faithful contribution to the church and community. It’s About MORE

8 .. It’s About MORE Did you know that . . . the 2016/17 Annual Project, with an international focus, the Madagascar School Project: Changing Lives, Sharing Hope brought in funds from the parishes in the diocese totalling close to $11,000?

It’s About MORE Did you know that the Annual Project 2017/18, with a national focus (very appropriate in Canada’s 150th year since Confederation) is to support the expansion of an intergenerational conference model for the transmission of Indigenous culture, customs, ceremonies, skills and traditions . . .

13 . It’s About MORE Did you know that the Anglican Church Women NS Board . . . operates each year with a theme to provide context and focus? For 2015/16, the theme was Leaders of Courage, Serving by Faith, for 2016/17, it was That Love and Peace and Justice may Give God’s kingdom Birth, and now for 2017/18, it is Witnesses to the Gospel.

14 . Did you know that the Anglican Church Women NS Board . . . promotes the concept of a Women’s Ministry Sunday to recognize the many ways that Anglican women live out God’s mission in the church and the world? Why? Because . . . It’s About MORE

Did you know that the Anglican Church Women NS Board . . . provides leadership for the White Ribbon Campaign, in companionship with the International Anglican Women’s Network (IAWN), the Anglican Church Women National Executive and the diocesan Mothers’ Union, to advocate for the physical safety and psychological security of girls and women worldwide? 16 . Did you know that the Anglican Church Women NS Board in collaboration with the Diocesan Council of the Mothers’ Union hosted, in the fall of A very moving panel discussion and conference entitled Broken Relationships: Exploring gender-based violence? Why? Because It’s About MORE

Did you know that the Anglican Church Women Nova Scotia Board collaborated with the Mothers’ Union Diocesan Council to have a Proclamation read out in the Nova Scotia Legislative Assembly and had the MLAs wear white ribbons and take the White Ribbon Campaign pledge never to commit, condone, or remain silent about violence against women and girls. 20 Did you know that The Anglican Church Women NS Board has assigned each parish in the diocese a Prayer Partner? More things are wrought by prayer than this world dreams of Alfred Lord Tennyson That one of the Synod delegates for your parish has that package from the NS Board outlining how this Prayer Partner ministry works? It’s About MORE

21 . Did you know that the Anglican Church Women hymn is The Love of Jesus Calls Us? A hymn that expresses It’s About MORE The love of Jesus calls us, in swiftly changing days, to be God’s co-creators in new and wondrous ways; that God, with men and women, may so transform the earth, that love and peace and justice may give God’s kingdom birth.

Did you know that the . . . women in our parishes are ready to offer their Spirit-infused gifts and talents in “new and wondrous ways”, to be “co-creators” with God, and, in equal partnership with men, to bring “love and peace and justice” to a broken world. Why? Because It’s About MORE And the Anglican Church Women Nova Scotia Board is right there to encourage and support all Anglican women in our parishes because our women are Witnesses to the Gospel.
