COMPUTERS/LAPTOPS FOR SALES STAFF – We would recommend our licensees have the most up-to-date operating system (ie. PC: Windows 7, XP or 2000) which includes Microsoft Office (ie. PowerPoint, Window Media Player, Microsoft Word.) This provides the ability to display digital files. Require Adobe Reader (this is free on-line). This is very important….The computer system requirements will aid you in creating and will help in adding or changing flyers, etc.

DEVELOP A SALES TEAM YOUR BUSINESS DEPENDS ON A SALES TEAM!
Remember, until a job is sold… there’s no business! Hire a Sales Manager Hire your sales team – some of our past experience has suggested part-time people like: teachers, police officers, real estate agents ect.. Hire part time people, especially teacher and police officers. Base their pay as strict commissions for each job sold, then change the base rate to increase for each job sold per week.

Teachers – especially coaches. 10% for sale, 12% for 2nd sale & 15% for 3rd sale. Subsequent sale including all previous sales – Average sales commissions built into job pricing at 13%. B. Full time Similar program – may need a draw against future sales for days. Terminate if not successful & look for another salesperson. A&B. Call weekly to motivate – meet monthly to recognize success.

Don’t Forget Door hangers distributed by salespeople for 2 blocks (where appropriate) in every direction from jobsite. Salesperson on site for specified time to greet respondents to door hangers. Thank you letter to homeowner from Company asking for referrals (family members or friends)! Salesperson returns for referrals OR additional referrals.

APARTMENTS & CONDOS Your main target source is your local Code Enforcement Office. New and up-to-date local and state laws now require a firewall between each unit. TELEVISION AND RADIO “Television is a great source of advertising, but expensive”, says Bill Szabo. Target the “green home”, home improvement shows, healthy home, specific health issues (chemical sensitive people) and specialized building segments. Some radio stations offer “free” healthy home segments or insulation segments. Or have you or your sales person become a “talk show host” and “specialized” insulation contractor. Trade offs. HOME SHOWS AND MALLS Set up a booth at your local home show, contractor state conventions, or mall. Do live demonstrations on-site when possible to show potential customers or home builders your product. Use a laptop computer to display the power point presentation and hand out bi-folds, Q&A and tri-folds for more information to potential customers.

Target your local AIA Offices and set up a “live” demonstration at your local mall or home show. Set up a block of time for on-site demonstrations (neighbors can be nosey). Have them target local clubs and organizations. i.e. church organizations, service clubs, family, friends, work associates and third party enthusiasts!

INSTALLERS Your installers are a primary sales asset to your company.
Your installers should carry some information with them while on the job site. (i.e. door hangers, post cards and brochures) Offer your installers a CASH incentive if while on the job site, a potential prospect becomes a new installation.
