What does my child need to bring?
Clothing and shoes worn outside will inevitably get dirty – so old clothes are best!! We will try our best to help everyone look after their things however we understand that some items get lost or left behind. We therefore strongly recommend that you name all items of clothing – and provide your child with a packing list, so that he/she can check items back into their bag. (The next slide as an example packing list) Please bring a teddy for bedtime as all staff will be taking theirs and they are comforting when staying away from home! Please do not bring anything valuable eg. money, jewellery, iPads, electronic devices, phones, cameras, expensive favourite clothing or shoes If your child is likely to be wet through night and they would benefit from a pull up please provide one and this will be put on discreetly

Skyclimb This is a High Ropes activity that the whole group can participate in together. Young people ascend the heights of our exhilarating Skyclimb tower, which combines a range of high ropes elements along the way - the higher the participants get, the harder the challenge. This activity is exclusive to Kingswood, and it is always a favourite.

High all aboard One of our High Ropes elements, in this activity, four participants in helmets and harnesses work together to carefully climb to the top of a 10-metre pole. Using cooperation and communication, they assist each other onto the platform at the top. This activity is great for fostering support for each other and promoting a sense of joint achievement in groups.

Circus Skills In this fun activity, students will have the opportunity to clown around whilst developing their concentration, coordination and self-awareness. Trying and learning a range of fun circus skill activities, like plate spinning, diabolo, juggling balls, clubs and devil sticks, your group will get the chance to try a new, fun and energetic activity, giving them the chance to let their confidence build.

Frisbee Golf This is a challenging and fun combination of golf and frisbee. Participants are challenged to throw the Frisbee to one another around our golf course - specially designed for frisbees - in the lowest number of throws possible. It's a game of skill, coordination and accuracy as students aim to complete all the holes on the course.

Field Games This outdoor session encourages participants to make the most of our centres' spacious surroundings with field games. With a mix of formal 'sports' such as cricket, rounders, ultimate frisbee, basketball and football, through to fun games and races based on these skills, there's something for everyone to have fun in the fresh air. Students usually compete in small teams, displaying tactical awareness and strategy. .

Sleeping arrangements
Our section of the Dukeshousewood chalet is called ‘Chestnut’ . The sleeping arrangements are 4/6 pupils to a room. There are no mixed rooms – boys and girls will sleep in separate rooms . Room allocations will be made by the teachers before the trip. The teachers’ bedrooms are situated in between the children’s rooms. The site has a ‘lights out’ rule of 10.00pm but we will return to our chalet at 9pm after the campfire activity.

Emergency contact procedures
