1. To Obey
Samuel said,
Has the Lord as much delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices
As in obeying the voice of the Lord?
Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice,
And to heed than the fat of rams.

2. Luke 2:39-40
When they had performed everything according to the Law of the Lord, they returned to Galilee, to their own city of Nazareth. The Child continued to grow and become strong, increasing in wisdom; and the grace of God was upon Him.

3. Escape to Egypt Matthew 2:11-13
Angel appears to Joseph and tells him to take Mary and Jesus to Egypt and remain there until further notice.
Joseph gets up and immediately departs by night.
Herod murders all males two years of age and under in the Bethlehem area.

4. Prophesy Fulfilled Hosea 11:1 When Israel was a youth I loved him,
And out of Egypt I called My son.
Jeremiah 31:15 Thus says the Lord,
“A voice is heard in Ramah,
Lamentation and bitter weeping.
Rachel is weeping for her children;
She refuses to be comforted for her children,
Because they are no more.”

7. Matthew 2:19-23
An Angel appears to Joseph and tells him Herod is dead and he should return to the land of Israel with Mary and Jesus.
When they arrive in Israel, God warns Joseph in a dream to go to the region of Galilee and they settled in Nazareth.
This was to fulfill what was spoken through the prophets: “He shall be called a Nazarene.”

8. Isaiah 11:1 Then a shoot will spring from the stem of Jesse,
And a branch from his roots will bear fruit.

9. Isaiah 53:2-3 For He grew up before Him like a tender shoot,
And like a root out of parched ground;
He has no stately form or majesty
That we should look upon Him,
Nor appearance that we should be attracted to Him.
He was despised and forsaken of men,
A man of sorrows and acquainted with grief;
And like one from whom men hide their face
He was despised, and we did not esteem Him.

11. Jesus in Jerusalem at age 12
During the Passover.
Jesus stays behind when Mary and Joseph leave to return to Nazareth.
Parents find Jesus in the Temple.
Jesus says, “He had to be in His Father's House”

15. Romans 6:16
Do you not know that when you present yourselves to someone as slaves for obedience, you are slaves of the one whom you obey, either of sin resulting in death, or of obedience resulting in righteousness?

16. Romans 6:22
But now having been freed from sin and enslaved to God, you derive your benefit, resulting in sanctification, and the outcome, eternal life.
