Computer industry: Training in linguistics can equip you to work on speech recognition, text-to-speech synthesis, artificial intelligence, natural language processing, and computer-mediated language learning. Publishing industry: people with a background in linguistics are particularly well equipped to work in editing, publishing, and writing, and to work in the development of language reference resources.
