(A) Coronal noncontrast sinus CT section (same patient; Figure 9.35) shows complete opacification of the bilateral ethmoid air cells and frontal sinuses with high-density material compatible with fungal sinusitis. There is suggestion of bony destruction involving the left lateral frontal sinus wall. (B) Axial CT view shows complete opacification of the bilateral anterior and posterior ethmoid air cells with high-density material compatible with fungal sinusitis. (C) Axial postcontrast T1-weighted image at the level of the ethmoid sinuses demonstrates opacification and avid enhancement within the mucosal surfaces of the bilateral anterior and posterior ethmoid air cells.
