Nest in cavities in trees
Hunt for rodents, snakes, birds, mammals…..
Pairs for life

May take prey 2 to 3 times heavier than itself.
Rabbits and hares favourites.
Eats all other owls but Snowy Owls

Swallow things whole or pulled apart
Cannot digest bones, fur, teeth, and feathers

7. Pellets Bird’s stomach has two parts
The first part has digestive juices, the second part works as a filter, holding back the indigestible parts
Regurgitates these compressed parts (pellet)
