2 Where are we? Tri-City (Gdansk, Gdynia, Sopot) GDANSK:

4 The largest institution of higher education
in Northern Poland a well-recognised public higher educational institution and the largest educational institution in the Pomeranian region, founded on 20 March 1970 as an amalgamation of two institutions of higher education: the Higher Economics School in Sopot and the Higher Pedagogical School in Gdansk. Later, the Higher Teacher Training School was also included, among TOP 10 universities in Poland according to the Ranking of all Universities in Poland prepared in 2016 by prestigious Educational Foundation „Perspectives”. Currently, the University of Gdansk offers: 11 Faculties, Foreign Language Center, Physical Education and Sport Center, 72 fields of study, comprising over 220 specialisations, in day and weekend studies, 18 doctoral courses, 104 post-graduate courses, approx graduate, doctoral and post-graduate students who are taught by academic and research staff.

5 Faculty of Economics is located in Sopot – the centre of the Tri-City
It provides an education for a total of more than students: 2 720 full-time students, 500 part-time students, 100 students of postgraduate courses in Polish and English 100 doctoral students at PhD studies in Polish and English About 130 specialised research and teaching staff is employed. The 3rd place in 2016 in the prestigious ranking of the economic faculties by the influential newspaper "Rzeczpospolita".

6 About history…. the Faculty of Economics
In 1942 in Warsaw as a part of the Secret University of Western Lands the Sopot centre of economic studies which descended from the Maritime Institute, was created . On 20 March 1970 the Faculty of Economics of Transportation as a part of Gdańsk University was formed. On 1 October the Faculty changed its name into the Faculty of Economics. Today, the Faculty is an academic centre with full academic rights, highly rated by employers in Pomerania region.

11 5 reasons to study... ...at the Faculty of Economics
Educational offer at high level, attractive specialisations, highly specialised research and teaching staff, fields of studies giving excellent job perspectives. Modern infrastructure - all lecture halls are fitted with multimedia equipment with fast wi-fi access, open terminals, special computer labs: Thomson Reuters Data Suite, OSTC lab, ACCA lab and a dealing room. Education in foreign languages, and two language courses. Specialisation run fully in English: International Business (BA and MA level). English language part-time Doctoral Studies in Economics. International student exchange programmes, particularly ERASMUS+ and other bilateral agreements (each year more than 130 students of our Faculty travel abroad). High activity of our students in research societies and student organisations (conferences, educational courses, trips, meetings, and other numerous events).
