3 At this point, you might be wondering, what
today’s study is going to be about. I’ll give you two choices, and let you guess which one is the subject of the message.

4 First, this might be about how a woman can
preach in church, while still remaining silent.

5 Or, this might be to give you an idea what it
is like when you can’t hear anything. You can see that something is being communicated, but since you cannot hear it, you don’t understand what it is.

6 In other words, to give you an idea of what it
is like to be deaf. So open your Bibles to the Gospel of Mark Chapter 7, and I’ll give it back over to Tom.

8 As you therefore have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him.
Colossians 2: 6

9 And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard
And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? … So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. Romans 10: 14 – 17 For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. Romans 10: 10

10 “…for the works which the Father has given Me to finish—the very works that I do—bear witness of Me, that the Father has sent Me.” John 5: 36 “Believe Me that I am in the Father and the Father in Me, or else believe Me for the sake of the works themselves.” John 14: 11

11 When He had called the multitude to Himself, He said to them:
“Hear Me, everyone, and understand.” Mark 7: 14

12 “And in them the prophecy of Isaiah is fulfilled, which says: ‘Hearing you will hear and shall not understand, and seeing you will see and not perceive; For the hearts of this people have grown dull. Their ears are hard of hearing, and their eyes they have closed. Lest they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears. Lest they should understand with their  hearts and turn, so that I should heal them.” Matthew 13:

13 “Do you not yet perceive nor understand. Is your heart still hardened
“Do you not yet perceive nor understand? Is your heart still hardened? Having eyes, do you not see? And having ears, do you not hear?” Mark 8: 17, 18

14 Revelation 2: 7 Revelation 2: 11
Revelation 3: 6 Revelation 3: Revelation 3: 22

15 If they do not hear Moses and the Prophets, neither will they be persuaded if one rise from the dead. Luke 16: 31 They are of the world. Therefore they speak as of the world, and the world hears them. I John 4: 5

18 Now in the fifteenth year of the reign of Tiberius Caesar, Pontius Pilate being governor of Judea, Herod being tetrarch of Galilee, his brother Philip tetrarch of Iturea … while Annas and Caiaphas were high priests, the word of God came to John the son of Zacharias in the wilderness. Luke 3: 1, 2

19 Again, departing from the region of Tyre and Sidon, He came through the midst of the region of Decapolis to the Sea of Galilee. Mark 7: 31

20 Jesus departed from there, skirted the Sea of Galilee, and went up on the mountain and sat down there. Then great multitudes came to Him, having with them the lame, blind, mute, maimed, and many others; and they laid them down at Jesus’ feet, and He healed them. So the multitude marveled when they saw the mute speaking, the maimed made whole, the lame walking, and the blind seeing; and they glorified the God of Israel. Matthew 15:

21

22 “Go home to your friends, and tell them what great things the Lord has done for you, and how He has had compassion on you.” And he departed and began to proclaim in Decapolis all that Jesus had done for him; and all marveled. Mark 5: 18 – 20

23  Then great multitudes came to Him, having with them the lame, blind, mute, maimed, and many others … Matthew 15: 30  Then they brought to Him one who was deaf and had an impediment in his speech, and they begged Him to put His hand on him.  And He took him aside from the multitude. Mark 7: 32, 33

24 So He … took her by the hand and lifted her up … Mark 1: 31
Then Jesus, moved with compassion, stretched out His hand and touched him … Mark 1: 41 Then He took the child by the hand, …  Mark 5: 41 … He laid His hands on a few sick people and healed them.  Mark 6: 5 Then He put His hands on his eyes again … Mark 8: 25

25 Then they brought to Him one who was deaf and had an impediment in his speech, and they begged Him to put His hand on him.  And He took him aside from the multitude, and put His fingers in his ears, and He spat and touched his tongue. Then, looking up to heaven, He sighed, and said to him, “Ephphatha,” that is, “Be opened.” Mark 7:

26 “Immediately his ears were opened” Mark 7: 35,

27 Immediately … the impediment of his tongue was loosed, and he spoke plainly.
Mark 7: 35

28 And they were astonished beyond measure, saying, “He has done all things well. He makes both the deaf to hear and the mute to speak.” Mark 7: 37 Then the eyes of the blind shall be opened, And the ears of the deaf shall be unstopped.  Then the lame shall leap like a deer, And the tongue of the dumb sing. Isaiah 35: 5, 6 Hear Him ye Deaf, His Praise ye Dumb, your loosened tongues employ, ye Blind behold your Savior come, and leap ye lame for joy.

29 As you therefore have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him.
Colossians 2: 6

30 hearing, and hearing by the word of God. Romans 10: 17
So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. Romans 10: 17

31 But blessed are your eyes for they see, and your ears for they hear; for assuredly, I say to you that many prophets and righteous men desired to see what you see, and did not see it, and to hear what you hear, and did not hear it. Matthew 13: 16, 17

32 When we’ve been there ten thousand years,
Bright shining as the sun, We’ve no less days to sing God’s praise    Than when we first begun.
