Recommendation & Documentation (REC & DOC) US suppliers provide input into best practices for using the IMDS system Group evaluates how changes in legislation affect the IMDS system and the underlying documents - especially the Recommendations Where most of the technical input is gathered, including model office testing IMDS Recommendation 019 (REC019) Subgroup is focused solely on Recommendation 019, which is how to report electronic assemblies within IMDS to the OEMs and additional rules for reporting electronics components In the Recommendation and Documentation subcommittee or Rec & Doc sub-group, the U.S. suppliers provide input into the best practices for using IMDS. The group also evaluates how changes in legislation will impact IMDS and the underlying support documents like the IMDS Recommendations especially, IDMS Recommendation 001. This group collects suggested changes to IMDS Recommendation 001 or other IMDS Recommendation that the supply-base would like to make and presents them to the IMDS Steering Committee. This group will also perform some of the testing in IMDS Model Office in advance of changes to the production version of IMDS. Another sub-committee is IMDS Recommendation 019.
