Today’s information worker efforts have amazing tools filled with potential, but which are hamstrung by a few flaws:
Business data is being captured, but often is not made readily available in a mobile format that decision makers can access and work with in their daily work;
Nearly everyone spends the day with a smartphone and/or a tablet, but mostly the devices are used for and scheduling;
The information workers who know the most about what the enterprise needs have to translate the requirements to engineers;
IT departments can only respond to the top priority requests for new apps - and revisions to existing apps;

5. Introducing Project Siena
Project Siena is a game-changing technology that enables business experts and analysts to quickly create prototype or production business apps with no programming skills required
Project Siena is not:
A replacement for Visual Studio
A tool to build apps with extensive database requirements
A tool for building apps that process transactions (eCommerce)
A tool for building traditional form-over-relational-data or transactional apps (CRM)
Project Siena is a NEW app dev environment from Microsoft that will change the game for data-driven businesses. Siena allows the people who work with the data to make apps themselves – even if they lack development experience.
Project Siena easily connects to a variety of data sources, including excel, sharepoint, RSS, social feeds, Office 365 and Azure Mobile Services
Project Siena does have a few practical limitations, however. Project Siena is not: - A replacement for developer tools like Visual Studio;
A way to create high volume data entry and transaction systems;
A way to build primary systems of record (ERP, CRM, etc).
