1 Thank you for thinking of Nautilus
Jason Wyndham Hart President & CEO Nautilus International

2 MAJOR CUSTOMERS For the past 38 years Nautilus International has designed & manufactured Radio Controls Proximity Detection Teleremote Controls Automated Guidance for the best mining companies in the world. These are just a few of them: #1 in Size - BHP Billiton #1 in Gold Barrick, Goldcorp, #1 in Uranium Cameco #1 in Aluminium - Alcoa #1 in Coking Coal - BHP and Mitsubishi

3 Automated Guidance System
Loaders, Rock-Breakers, Block-Holers etc… Nautilus has been developing their AGS system for loaders for a long time. The first AGS design started in January In November 2000, Nautilus completed the design and manufacture of ‘Lucy’ our in-house loader which is used to test all of our Radio, Teleremote and AGS systems. Lucy is very small, 1/5th the size of an R2900 CAT loader but she’s fitted with a full size AGS system. For the last 17 years, Nautilus has used Lucy and it’s indoor mine to simplify, improve, miniaturize and test all types of systems. Our indoor mine has a fully equipped u/g and surface Control Room with multiple Stopes, Stock-Piles and Ore-Passes. Your engineers can come here to our indoor mine for full hands-on training in a warm, comfortable, safe environment with very productive training sessions. Nautilus 38 Years of Quality

5 Automated Guidance System
What are the best features of the Nautilus AGS system? It’s simple and easy to understand. The equipment is small, rugged and very reliable. Any mine electrician can easily maintain this system. The loader equipment can be installed in about 6 hours. The tunnel equipment is small, rugged and short-circuit proof. The map used to guide the AGS system can be changed in a few minutes. How good is AGS with very big loaders ? Our AGS systems are operating the biggest loaders in the world. The R3000 loaders at Goldcorp’s Eleonore mine use oversize 15 cubic yard buckets and Sandvik’s huge LH621 loaders at Prominent Hill, Australia are also fitted with the largest buckets available and tram in very tight tunnels. How good is AGS with small, difficult loaders? In 2011 Newmont’s Midas Mine in the USA purchased four very small Sandvik LH204 loaders with almost zero space for AGS equipment. These loaders use Parker’s IQAN Canbus system which was quite difficult to interface with. Nautilus solved these problems and our AGS systems worked really well until the mine was sold to Klondex in Now Klondex & Sandvik are going to start using these AGS systems again starting in 2017. 38 Years of Innovation 18

6 Automated Guidance System
Why would I want a Nautilus AGS System? AGS will run your loaders faster and more efficiently. AGS will prevent your loaders from hitting walls and being damaged. Production will improve because your loaders won’t be out of service as often. Your loaders can be operated from a small room on the surface or anywhere in the mine. Why use a surface control room? AGS can operate between shifts. AGS can operate just before blasting and almost immediately after blasting. AGS operators don’t waste time and money going to & from the u/g to get ready to work. How does Nautilus compare to the competition? Our installation is the fastest Nautilus AGS is the least expensive The Nautilus AGS system has a lot less equipment. Nautilus AGS works better than our competitors’ systems. The training required to use our AGS system takes only a few hours. 38 Years of excellence

7 Automated Guidance System
What is the payload for an R2900? Hi Jason,           To have a good answer, you need to know the size of the bucket and the grade of the muck. Example:  The ore grade at Eleonore is 10g/ton x = oz/ton x $1000/oz = $352.74/ton R2900 = 18 tons per bucket x $ = $6,349 per bucket. This is a very quick calculation we have made here which doesn’t take care of the cost of machinery. Regards Eric Eric Dessureault Superviseur Instrumentation et Contrôle Mine | Goldcorp Inc. T: +1 (819) | M: +1 (819) |

8 Automated Guidance System
How long does it take to recover the cost? If you refer to the previous slide, Eleonore’s ore grade is 10 grams of gold per ton which is unusually good so we’ll calculate the very worst case we can think of for an u/g mine which would be 1g per ton or U.S.$635 per bucket. Eleonore’s average tramming distance is about 500m for the return journey from Orepass to Stope. In Gear-2 the R2900  8.8 Kph so the loader will take 3 minutes and 25 seconds. Eleonore’s operators are very quick but we’ll use a really slow time of 2 minutes and 35 seconds to load and dump each bucket so the worst case cycle time would total 6 minutes or 10 buckets per hour. At $635 per bucket, 10 buckets per hour provides extra revenue of US $6,350 per hour. The operator can get in at least 2 extra hours per day operating between shift changes and just before and just after blasting. Another benefit is he doesn’t have to go underground for the morning safety meeting and he doesn’t need to shower and change after work. He stays on surface, sitting in a comfortable chair and when his work shift is over he just goes home. Therefore the mine would gain an extra 2 hours x $6,350 per hour = U.S. $12,700 extra per shift. Therefore, in this worst case scenario with slow workers and 1g per ton ore grade, the mine will recover the cost of our AGS system in 16 shifts. In addition to the extremely fast recovery of the AGS system cost, we should also note that the prevention of damage to the loader (and the decrease in down-time) will save the customer even more money.

12 AUTOMATED GUIDANCE SYSTEM
TC5 or CONTROL – CHAIR ? The Control-Chair that the operator uses to remotely control his loader from surface is comfortable, efficient and very popular. However, there are some things it can’t do: It can’t be taken underground to test and trouble-shoot the loader It can’t be quickly and easily moved to a different location. The TC5 unit solves both of these problems and it also has Auto-Mate and Vehicle I.D. which means that: Any available TC5 can be used instead of a Control-Chair, allowing the operator to sit in a comfortable office chair and remotely operate any available machine in the mine. The TC5 has another advantage, it has optional Proximity Detection to protect the TC5 operator when he’s underground testing and close to his remotely controlled loader. 38 Years of Quality

18 Automated Guidance System How simple is our system?
Auto-Mate provides our customers with simplicity and flexibility. The Chair operator (or TC5 operator) can choose any available vehicle and in a few seconds it will be ready to use. The operator does not need to know the Frequency, ID# or any technical information regarding the vehicle he wants to control. He only needs to choose the vehicle he wants from the list on his TV screen. For example: Loader Type: R License Plate # R R LH LH LH Once he has selected a vehicle, it will automatically confirm it’s identity and send back any important status information to the operator’s screen.

19 Automated Guidance System
How safe and flexible is our system? AUTO-MATE Auto-Mate provides the operator with simplicity, flexibility and safety. He can use a Control Chair or any TC5 to remotely control any available vehicle or machine in the mine. If an electrician takes the TC5 underground to work directly and closely with a loader, he can choose any available PDD to protect him from his remotely controlled loader. All of our PDD’s also have the Auto-Mate feature. If the TC5 operator tries to select a vehicle for which he is not trained or not authorized, his TV screen display will politely remind him to check with his Supervisor.

20 STAR SPLITTER For mines which require a very large tramming area, the Star-Splitter is a great solution as shown on the next slide. The ‘Star’ is a very small, inexpensive unit that can be added to any Nautilus Teleremote or AGS system and it will quadruple the tramming area. Each ‘Star’ has four output cables which can drive up to 24 Amplifiers which will allow a single operator to tram his loader through 2,800 metres of tunnels. Since the tunnels are a dangerous place due to blasting and other causes the TCM output and it’s cable and all of the Amplifier cables are short-circuit protected. If a cable short does occur, no equipment will be damaged and an appropriate warning message will be shown on the operator’s TV screen. Nautilus 38 Years of Imagination

35 Nautilus - 38 years of customer service
Remote ‘Programming’ Customers often have their own ideas on the way our AGS System should operate and Nautilus always does it’s best to accommodate them. Nautilus software engineers can quickly modify the customer’s existing firmware in Canada and then it to the mine for testing. Any mine site electrician can quickly load the revised firmware into an AGS unit using their own Lap-Top and then let their Control-Room operator test it immediately. This has two benefits: Supervisors and operators know they can quickly and easily experiment with new concepts and modify the way their system operates. Since software can easily be ed and then loaded on-site, Nautilus can regularly upgrade customers’ software to make sure they have the latest, safest and most efficient operating system.
