It’s a bird! It’s a plane No, its a flying boat airplane! The first commercial airplane flight was actually a flying boat. It happen in January A former mayor of St Petersburg, Florida, paid 400 to fly from St. Petersburg to Tampa. The 18mile trip took only 23 minutes by plane. Traveling the same distance by ship would of taken over two hours. Since the flight was successful, plane trips across the Tampa Buy became popular. Two other men, William Dawes and Samuel Prescott, also rode hoarses, but Paul Revere became famous. All 3 men were arrested by the British but Hancock and Adams were safe. 1. Questions What is a characteristic of hope, or “the little bird”? An important characteristics of hope is that it never stops at all. It is resilient even in the face of gales and storm, or pain and sorrow. Another important characteristic of hope is that it keeps many people “warm,” or supports them through difficult times.

Questions Describe the speaker’s personal experience with hope. Use evidence from the poem. The speaker uses the phrases “on the strangest sea” and “in the chilliest land” to show she has had hope in strange, unfamiliar, or adverse situations. The speaker says that hope has never asked “a crumb” of her, which indicates that she has never had to sacrifice something to maintain hope, even in the hardest of times. This shows that the speaker might be naturally hopeful or optimistic. The speaker was describing her positive personal experiences with hope. This indicates that the poet has used hope to support her through many “storms” and “gales.”
