1. Identify and explain major problems social, political, and economic problems that the US faced as a result of Industrialization 2. Assess the role of muckrakers and why muckrakers were important for the growth of US society 3. Identify and evaluate reform programs created to specifically fix problem areas within America 4. Analyze the progressive policies of T. Roosevelt, Taft, and W. Woodrow and assess the legacies of each president

Eliminate abuses of big business (monopolies) Reduce the gap between rich and poor Social welfare laws to help children in the workplace Better living conditions Better working conditions
