Powerful Basic Telephony Services/Cost Effective SBX IP basic service unit provides a variety of features for enterprise communications including VM, CID as basic services Expansion & Converged System SBX IP will scale from its current configuration to a larger configuration. Also, VoIP technology, allows SBX IP to offer IP extensions, system networking, and SIP trunks. Simplified Architecture/Easy to Use The SBX IP is a converged telephony system combining traditional digital telephony with the option of adding IP functionality. This provides small medium size businesses (SMBs) the ultimate flexibility as it allows a business to deploy the appropriate technology at their own pace. In its simplest form, the system is a powerful and cost effective telephony solution for small – medium size business. The SBX IP features allow SMBs to present a large company image at a small business cost. The system can scale for a small size to a medium size in a simple manner. The system also allows SMBs to take advantage of VoIP applications such as IP extensions, IP networking, and SIP trunking to provide flexibility and cost savings that VoIP applications can deliver. Finally, the SBX IP system is easy to install and maintain. System components are automatically recognized, scaling is simple, and multiple administration methods are provided to facilitate easy administration. . Its simplified architecture provides plug & play facility with full hybrid extensions scalability up to 12x48 (33x48 with T1/PRI) capacity and user friendly OAM tools.

The first deployment is a basic digital key system. This allows a business to take advantage of hundreds of telephony features to provide superior customer service and make business communication efficient. The second deployment is adding voice processing to the basic system. This allows SMBs to present a “large” company image and streamline business communications even further. Finally, the last step is adding VoIP functionality to the system. SMBs can now deploy remote IP phones, connect multiple offices together, and take advantage of cost savings by deploying SIP trunks all over a broadband type connection. This feature really extends the capability of SMBs to take advantage of VoIP applications. By adding optional hardware, the SBX IP provides both traditional and IP telephony without a complete “forklift” upgrade of the system. Applications such as: Remote IP telephone support: Allows IP telephones to be installed at remote locations to provide office functionality at remote locations. The SBX IP system facilitates various types of IP endpoints to provide the ultimate flexibility for SMBs. IP networking: Allows up to 72 locations to be connected via an IP network allow individual offices operate as 1 seamless system. The IP connection saves cost form having to run separate voice/data lines between locations. Dialing plans, features such as DSS/BLF, intercom, message waiting are transparent across locations. An optional centrally located VM system can also be utilized to standardize voice processing administration and operation. SIP trunking Allows SMBs to take advantage of cost effective SIP trunks which can provide cost savings over traditional copper type trunks. Each group can have up to 24 members assigned. One of the types is a UCD type. The UCD type provides some ACD type functionality. This group type routes based on the longest idle station. Each UCD group can have 2 recorded announcements associated with it. UCD agents can login and logout of groups. They can also make themselves available/unavailable while logged into a group. Calls to a UCD group queue can overflow to an destination after a programmable period of time. Also, if a call is presented to a group and no agents are available, the call can immediately be sent to an alternate destination. Each group can have a dedicated music source. Each group can have its’ own wrap up timer so agents can perform wrap up functions prior to taking the next group call. Supervisor Functions: Monitor - The supervisor monitor provides a means for an ACD supervisor to monitor an agent's call in progress or to provide assistance. A supervisor may intrude into an agent's call in a listen only or in a true conference mode. This feature is available with or without warning tone. View CIQ - When a call is queued to a group for longer than a predefined time or when a predefined number of calls are queued, the supervisor's LCD will indicate the number of calls in queue, and the queued time for the longest queue. Record Agent Calls - An ACD Supervisor can activate two-way recording when monitoring an agent's conversation. Reroute Queued Call - The supervisor can reroute a queued call to another destination with or without answer. The supervisor can change the overflow destination, overflow time, and wrap-up time.

Call forward allows user to direct calls to alternate destinations based on unconditional, busy, or no answer conditions. The destination can be another station, a group or an off net location. The hot desk feature allows one station to be shared amongst several users. This is useful for employees who travel or are not based in the office. Call coverage allows stations to provide call answering coverage for other stations based on certain conditions. SMDR and traffic reports can be generated to monitor/track calls and obtain performance statistics about the system. These reports can be used by SMBs to make business decisions about personnel or system resources. Account codes allow SMBs to require codes to be entered prior to making calls for tracking purposes. The system supports verified, non-verified and walking class of service code types. The system supports circular, terminal, all ring or pickup type hunt groups to provide SMBs with call answering options. The system can be setup such that it automatically changes modes based on time of day. This removes the need for the attendant to manually place the system into/out of these modes. The system can provide up to 5 tenant groups to provide multiple company support. This is useful for SMBs that provide several company functions as one SBX IP system can accommodate the various company requirements.

The system can support any mix of IP applications on a card, however, a channel must be dedicated to a specific application type. An example, if you had a 4 port card, 2 channels could be used for SIP trunks and 2 channels for Ip extension.

These types of trunks are typically more cost effective than standard copper business trunks. The customer could have SIP trunks augmented by a few standard trunks to provide failover in case of a broadband issue. Vertical is in process of certifying the system with various carries mentioned above. Once certified, Vertical provides a “cut sheet” that details the exact setup Vertical used to facilitate an easy setup for the installer. SIP trunks also provide DID functionality that the SBX IP system can use to route calls to specific stations or groups. SIP trunking requires the optional 4 port VOIB card and possibly the 4 port VOIU expansion unit which are installed into the BKSU.

Each system will require an activation license If the busy lamp field function is desired, the no charge BLF manager software must be installed and reside on 1 CP located in the network.
