MATERIALS – “If You See Something, Say Something” annual renewal and conscious raising
EMERGENCY PLANS – Review and Collaboration
SECURITY PATROLS - Property feedback
ALARMS (FIRE & SECURITY)- respond, repair, and maintenance
ELECTRONIC LOCK SYSTEMS –(including proximity buttons and access cards) repair, replace, install
PLAYGROUND SAFETY – inspect existing equipment and approve new equipment prior to installation
SAFETY AUDITS – conduct annually with Fire Marshal’s Office and Facilities Services
SECURITY CAMERA SYSTEMS – install and repair, download and record video
KEY CARD ACCESS – New Cards, reporting lost cards
SECURITY PATROLS – after hours response to alarms and incidents at schools
VISITOR ACCESS CONTROL SYSTEM (AIPHONE) – install and repair
RADIOS – repair and maintain school two-way radios, ALERT radio system

FIRE DRILLS – assist in planning, ensure compliance with state law
NOTIFICATIONS – ensure proper notifications are made in the event of a emergency/crisis situation
SUPPORT ICS PROTOCOL DURING AN EMERGENCY – to assist school staff and liaise with responders
SAFETY AND SECURITY LIAISON – Public Safety Partnership, Information Sharing, and collaboration with external partners.

5. Recent Advances ALERT Radio – Portable radio capability
Exterior use and 911 connection
Panic button - integration to lock electronic doors.
Run-Hide-Fight – Training to School Staff for response to violent intruders.
Ongoing commitment to Visitor Management practices and active reporting

6. Emergency Response Planning
Every School has one and is updated Annually
Is a guide for Administrators and staff to assist in event of an emergency.
In line with PPD and FEMA, DHS.Web based Emergency Planning
Provides a platform for Emergency information, mapping and practice in support of planning, prevention, response and recovery actions.
Lays the foundation for recovery after an incident.
Real or perceived – example a bomb threat is not a “real” emergency until a device is found/detonated. But we must react as though the threat is real.

7. Violent Intruder Preparations
Training Roll out to Schools – “Run, Hide Fight” (Adult Decision Making during a violent Threat)
Provided to Principals and School Staff
Every Situation is dynamic
Every teacher is a decision maker
Supported by Law Enforcement
Training concludes in May 2017
