Background - Putting it in Context •NCCCS set aside $700,000 - Leadership •Secondary & post secondary intentional connections with employers •CTE rigorous programs of study leading to employment. •Upfront partnerships with employers, and to collaborate workforce boards. • CTE Career Pathways joined efforts with the The Department of Commerce •Twenty Projects - Developing strategies to further incorporate career advising, work based learning, and stackable credentials into rigorous programs of study enhanced with faculty and employers building in learning outcomes that prepare our students for work.

Interesting Notes: • All funded projects provided strong letters of support from local businesses All community college perkins leadership projects sought and received collaborative letters from local workforce boards and their k-12 partners. • All projects are addressing (hiring) a coordinator, intermediary, and/or career advisor • All projects have begun meeting with their local high schools and local workforce boards • Five Colleges and over 15 school districts in the North East are collaborating with workforce boards to address advanced manufacturing career pathways

How can we disseminate lessons learned ? What type of funding would be needed? How would your structure the RFP? Sustainable? Creating Replicable Models building on work done through this RFP? What questions should we be asking? Goal is to prepare technical workers for Business and Industry Help transition students form HS to CC Building on the Apprenticeship Model – Engage Employers Align our Curriculum to employer present and future needs
