13 Voltage differences Voltage in the world differs for some countries 230 volt or 110 volts. Plug shapes, plug holes and plug sizes are also different. In USA and Canada run on 110 volt 60 Hz and in Poland run on 230 volt 50 Hz. This difference in the voltage can be solved by using an appropriate voltage converter. Plug adapters only change the plug shape and not the electricity. They are simply designed as solutions to the electric wall outlet configuration problem.

14 Cell Phones - Mandatory registration of prepaid SIM card
SIM cards can be bought at many places: shops, kiosk, newsagents, gas stations or the stores of the network operators. New regulations have come into effect in Poland on 25 July 2016 requiring the registration of  personal details at the sale of prepaid mobile SIMs. Customers must show an original ID document in order to activate a new card. Any existing cards must also register personal details by 1 February 2017.

15 Cell Phones - SIMLOCK Unlock your phone before coming to Poland
Locked phones are common if you’re from the United States, Australia, and New Zealand, and less so in Europe and Asia, where paying the full price for unlocked devices is typical. An unlocked phone is a phone that you can use anywhere in the world. You can replace the SIM card as you travel the world and put local SIM cards in as you go. If you’re not sure if your phone is unlocked, ask your service provider.

16 Internet connection A connection to the internet is available in every room. Before your internet connection is set up you have to provide your notebook’s or mobile device’s MAC address The MAC address is a unique value associated with anetwork adapter. Please fill out the forms to set up your connection before you come to Poland. Make sure you have provided Ethernet / LAN MAC address not the wireless one. In case you need wifi connection you have to buy wireless router (not modem).

17 Internet connection If you do nott know how to find your LAN / Ethernet MAC address just google „ how to find LAN / Ethernet MAC ” Some devices do not have LAN/ Ethernet (wired) option. In this case you need to either buy USB Ethernet Adapter or get wireless router.
