1987 $140,000 26 Variants 3 Speed Automatic Replaced the Willie Jeep. Army needed a more versatile vehicle. Varients include Medical Version, Special Forces, Light Infantry, Maintenance, Command and Control, etc.

3 MRAP Mine-Resistant Ambush Protected
2007 $1 Million 15 Variants 5 Speed Automatic Fully Armored, protects occupants.

4 Wheeled Vehicle Features
Wheeled vehicle features – DUKE frequency jammer, protects against IED’s – CROW Weapons System, mounted on MRAP, thermal and night vision, protects gunner from threats – Armored glass. Test piece pictured shows 3 hits with 50 cal rifle. Did not penetrate.

5 Positions 91 B – Wheeled Vehicle Mechanic
Most common position is 91B – Will cross train to work on many different vehicles – Soldiers get ASE certified from this training – AIT is 10 weeks long

14 The Guard Soldier Serves 1 weekend per month, 2 weeks per year
College Student Has a Security Clearance (Secret or Top Secret) Resume with real experience and marketable skills College Credits for skills Measurable Success The typical Guard Soldier - 2 types of soldiers, one who decides to make a career and one who uses the guard as a vehicle to help them attain their goals. - Security clearance, people with these are frequently recruited to go work for big company’s such as Boeing and L3 Communications. College credits for military training.

PLAY Utah Guard in Action – Tell students to Watch Closely! The students will see every vehicle we’ve featured in this presentation as well as the different MOS’s in action. After complete, take them into auto shop to check out the vehicle and gear. Save 20 minutes at the end of class for Q & A and collect lead information.
