2 Emphasis on this four-poster bed is created by the Repetition in the
Flower Prints on the wall as well as the placement of the proportioned Bench at the foot of the bed.

3 Scale, Proportion, Form and Texture add variety to this modern bedroom.

4 Bright colored art provides Emphasis to this wall area
which includes a modern fireplace.

5 Analogous colors complement this Contemporary
bedroom with Rhythm by Gradation in the storage boxes and pillows from

6 Asymmetrical Balance is used to place desk, chairs, and end table near the bed in this Warm Neutral Colored Bedroom.

7 Colors and shapes from the wallpaper and rug design are repeated in wood trim and valance designs. Rhythm of repeated curved lines move from valance to the headboard, light fixture, and furniture. Curved lines featured in the wallpaper, crown molding and wall trim unify the backgrounds in this formal bedroom. Emphasis is on the Bed and window which are both treated with the same drapery design. They eye moves from the bed to the window and then to the flowers and rug design as the peach and blue unify the room with a Complementary Color Scheme. Timothy Corrigan used18th-century chinoiserie wallpaper inspired the design of the Chinese bedroom. (September 2005)

8 Rhythm with opposition in the wood grain behind the bed creates a rich and interesting background to this neutral bedroom. The identical lamps and end tables are symmetrically balanced.

The Bright colors create Emphasis. The Golden Rectangle Proportion was used to create the purple rectangle. 10% of the room is purple, 30% Blue and 60% white creating a pleasing Proportion of Colors.
