WHY THE OAASC GOT STARTED NO COMMUNITY SHOULD BE ISOLATED
600 SCHOOLS ARE PREDICTED TO CLOSE OVER THE NEXT TWO YEARS MOST OF THESE SCHOOLS ARE IN RURAL, NORTHERN & SMALL COMMUNITIES STUDENTS WILL BE FORCED TO ATTEND SCHOOLS OUTSIDE THEIR COMMUNITIES STUDENTS WILL SPEND UP TO FOUR HOURS A DAY ON A BUS = TO THEIR INSTRUCTION TIME CHANGES TO THE MINISTRY’S PUPIL ACCOMMODATION REVIEW GUIDELINE FUNDING CUTS

IN 484 DAYS ONTARIANS GO TO POLLS START NOW AND TELL THE WYNNE GOVERNMENT THAT WE NEED: TO FOSTER LOCAL EDUCATION TO KEEP OUR LOCAL JOBS FUNDING TO EDUCATE THE WHOLE STUDENT FUNDING TO RECOGNIZE THE DISTINCT DIFFERENCES BETWEEN RURAL & URBAN ONTARIO FAIR TREATMENT

Rural education workers will feel the brunt of these school closures ASK YOURSELVES Your members may be offered jobs at schools outside their community, but should that be accepted as good enough? Do you want to work where you live? Who will pay for the wear and tear on your vehicle? Who will pay for the gas to travel up to 300 kilometers a week? Will your disposable income erode? Will you have less family and leisure time?
