15 Barberà del Vallès and Sabadell. Simbiosi industrial
@pacteindustrial #Q14pacteindustrial Barberà del Vallès and Sabadell. Simbiosi industrial Fostering industrial symbiosis in industrial parks The project in numbers 6 industrial parks in Sabadell and 4 in Barberà del Vallès, with 2500 industries 150 industries were visited Survey to a sample of 200 enterprises 30 hours of personal advice 6 diagnosis Activities in Survey, Informative and technical sessions, Factsheets, Prospecting industrial companies (needs). 16 Viladecans. Low-energy Industrial Urban-park
@pacteindustrial #Q14pacteindustrial Viladecans. Low-energy Industrial Urban-park Improvement of the energy infrastructure of an industrial park Improving the competitiveness of an old industrial park near the city center of Viladecans (Polígon Centre). Aiming to generate a district of excellence in energy management and ITC use, to be applied to the whole city later on. Transforming it into a “Low Energy Industrial Urban Park”, as added-value for attracting new economic activity. Financed partly with European projects (Feder and URBACT-II): international relations and knowledge exchange. Use of urban planning to facilitate future smart grid investments. Local Action Plan as a result, co-created by a participated planning process led by the municipality. Political leadership.

17 Entrepreneurial skills
@pacteindustrial #Q14pacteindustrial Rubí. Rubí Brilla Fostering energy efficiency in industrial parks Promoted by the Mayor’s office. Goal: Turning the city a national and international leader in energy efficiency & use of renewable energies. Integrated project: Industrial sector, retail and domestic domains affected. Collaboration among the municipality, businesses, universities and citizens. Improving both the competitiveness and the environment of the territory. Pilot project derived “SMART PAE”, the creation of a smart industrial park. 15.000€ investment in consultancy ( ) 20% savings in electricity bill 40% saving in telecoms bill (up to €/yr per company) RUBÍ BRILLA Entrepreneurial skills Increased funding Innovation Municipality Universities Businesses

18 Granollers. EcoCongost Energy symbiosis in industrial parks
@pacteindustrial #Q14pacteindustrial Granollers. EcoCongost Energy symbiosis in industrial parks Initial goal To explore the possibilities of fostering industrial symbiosis in mixed industrial parks. Final goal Feasibility of promoting eco-efficient industrial parks that will allow: Increasing the competitiveness of the companies regarding the energy vector. Improving the capacity of company attraction and retention. Emission reductions. Contribute to branding Granollers as a “sustainable and industrial city”. Building a collaborative environment (symbiotic) with shared using and seizing of the resources in the territory (water, residues, underused assets or human resources). Analysis of local sources of heat and residual energy in the industries located in the industrial parks , working together with the industrial companies and other agents. Five alternatives evaluated (technically and economically).Best returns: district heating, cogeneration plant and direct exchange.

19 District heating and cooling from residual energy
@pacteindustrial #Q14pacteindustrial Mataró. Tub Verd District heating and cooling from residual energy Joint venture ( 51,1% Gas Natural & 48,9% Aigües de Mataró) promoted by the municipality. Investment of 12 M € District heating and cooling (thermal energy) using excess energy from other municipal environmental infrastructures in the city (Mataró’s wastewater treatment plant and Maresme’s Integrated Centre for Waste Recovery) and cogeneration. Current consumers Hospital of Mataró, 9 schools, 5 sports & swimming pool municipal facilities, TecnoCampus Mataró, m2 of tertiary buildings and m2 of housing. Current production vs. full production (with current infrastructure) Energy distributed: MWh/year vs MWh/year Saving in fossil fuels: MWh/year vs MWh/year Electricity savings: 800MWh/year vs MWh/year
