2. What is the American high school theatre festival (ahstf)?
2000 High schools nominated each year
Have to be nominated by either a professional theatre or a university to apply
40-50 high schools are selected to represent north America at the world fringe festival in edingurgh, Scotland
An invited high school gets to come and perform a one-act show at the fringe four times over a two week period (usually the first two weeks in august)
Green hope theatre was nominated in 2016 by unc
In December 2016, green hope theatre was selected as a 2018 entry!

6. The cost of the trip
AHSTF 2017 Program Pricing Guide for a North Carolina School
Based on your current group count of 16 full program participants, your trip cost is $6442 per person from Charlotte Douglas International (CLT).
If your group size increases to a higher category, you will qualify for additional discounts.
Likewise, if your group size decreases to a lower category, a supplement will apply. Final costs are based on group size at time of travel. Please see these costs outlined below.

An individual who has no chaperoning responsibilities and is not involved with
the performance in any way is considered a non-performer. Their cost is discounted by $350.  Non-Performers are included in the FPP count.

7. What’s included in the price?

§  Participation in the world’s largest performing arts festival
§  Personal account representative to help in the planning of your upcoming AHSTF program
§  Round trip airfare from nearest major airport
§  Two nights’ accommodation in London  (in single or shared room with same gender)
§  Ten nights’ accommodation in Edinburgh (in single or shared room with same gender)
§  One meal per day in London
§  Two meals daily in Edinburgh (breakfast daily, plus either lunch or dinner)
§  Motor coach service for group as indicated in itinerary (sightseeing, airport and venue transfers)
§  Half-day guided tour of London

§  Transportation by private motor coach from London to Edinburgh

8. What’s not included
Costs NOT included the quoted price: § Any deviations from the main AHSTF group itinerary § Extra lighting, sound or stage components requested specifically by your group § Rented properties, and their associated handling, cargo or transportation charges § Supplemental fees associated with shipping staging, scenery or properties § Additional side trips or tickets requested by group § Imposed increases in air, rail, or motor coach fare due to circumstances beyond the carrier’s control (fuel surcharges, departure taxes, other taxes, acts of God, strikes, etc.) § Luggage, equipment, pre-trip or other fees charged by the airline

11. Next steps:
Complete the interest/commitment survey by Monday, april 18
Those that are committed to go will receive a follow up from me on how to officially enroll
We will have a follow up meeting with the active participants on developing a full plan for fundraising goals and deadlines for payments, rehearsals, and other particulars
Please participate in as many fundraisers as possible for green hope theatre! All proceeds go towards getting us to the fringe!
