The New Model Fast Fact: It’s an exciting time
We are moving from a book…to a learning system If one is familiar with CSCP, we’re adding all the bells & whistles Keep it fair, simple and uncomplicated and consistent with other APICS products Incent students to commit upfront to completing CPIM training through to certification. Fast Fact: Did you know that current CPIM member pricing is 44% higher outside of North America? Dean: Thank you Bob The new CPIM Pricing Model is intended to Make the buying process for our partners and customers simple and consistent and inline with other core APICS products such as CSCP and CLTD Establish global pricing for CPIM. APICS is a global organization and out current pricing structure is not globally consistent. In fact our price for CPIM is 44% higher outside of NA. Which is confusing to the market Incentivize students to complete their certification with a condensed learning path and a significant price reduction for the majority of the market.

More CPIMs Earned Message: Get Certified! Legacy CPIM
Reconfigured CPIM BSCM CPIM Part 1 MPR CPIMs Earned (23%) SMR ECO DSP CPIM Part 2 (Partner slide) The ultimate value of the new CPIM program. To help more Supply Chain professionals earn the CPIM! With the current, legacy model, only 23% of those candidates who took and passed the Basics of Supply Chain Management exam actually went on to earn their certification. Why? Because taking 4 more exams was daunting and time consuming. With the new CPIM model, there are only two exams. Once someone has completed the first exam, they are more likely to take just one more exam to complete there Certification. More CPIMs means. . . More CPIMs Earned
15
New CPIM Pricing (Public Member)
Dean: The 2016 the New configuration will have the public price of: LS: M-1 ($395) M-2 ($495) with TOTAL PLUS MEMBER PRICE OF $890 And an E: M-1 ($495) M-2 ($495) totaling $990 With a combined Total $1,880 APICS will, for the first time, be introducing a bundled option which includes both a learning system and the exam. The bundle option will be the most economical path for the customer. The bundle will include both part 1 and part two learning systems and exams. While the new Learning System and Exams can be purchased unbundled (separately), APICS is introducing a Bundled option designed to encourage students to commit to professional development thru to certification. *Member pricing excludes student member pricing
16
New CPIM Pricing for Partners

Learning System Approach
A-la-carte Model New Reading Materials (including online e-reader) Learning System Model New Online Quizzes and Practice Tests New Instructor Kit (Slides and Notes) New Online & In-Class Activities and Videos Flashcards SmartStudy Tool Analytics Legacy Participant Workbooks Legacy CPIM Study Tools Legacy Exam Simulator Legacy Instructor Kit The Learning System model moves away from purchasing individual components and promotes a holistic learning approach. It also gives students more flexibility in their own study, offering more opportunities for out of class work so that they can come to class prepared to better understand concepts rather than hear about them for the first time when they enter the classroom. See Jessica’s lecturette on the flipped classroom for more information on this model of learning. Link is below

Reading Materials: Structure and Content
Part 1 Part 2 One Module: Basics of Supply Chain Management (BSCM) Module 1: Strategic Management of Resources (SMR) Module 2: Master Planning of Resources (MPR) Module 3: Detailed Scheduling and Planning (DSP) Module 4: Execution and Control of Operations (ECO) For Part 1 there is only 1 module. For Part 2 there are 4 modules—SMR, MPR, DSP, and ECO. focus the in-class time on better understanding the material, drawing from what they have already read and learned. Logic behind moving SMR to module 1 – You need to understand strategy before you can dive deeper into the specific topics. By putting it first we avoid the inherent repetition the old SMR class had by reviewing previous concepts. Now the other modules can look back to SMR for reference rather than reviewing in SMR the previous modules.
21
Online Materials: Welcome Screen
This is what the Welcome page will look like for a student. As you can see by the buttons on the right, the online system guides them through the three steps: assess, study and practice. Once they click into these buttons, they will be able to access the tools outlined in the previous slide depending on which phase of the process they are in. Note that the Resource Center is also highlighted at the bottom, as we encourage students to use this tool during all three phases.
22
Reading Materials: Delivery Modes
Printed Booklets Online e-reader Vitrium e-download PDF (offline access) There are 3 delivery modes for the reading materials, all three versions are available to every user—it is not an either-or. This way students can consume the information in multiple formats depending on their needs and preferences. All Modes Included in the Learning System
23
STUDY: E-Reader Content will be displayed as reflowable text, to support access and use of multiple devices and improve readability. Learners can navigate throughout the e-book using a hyperlinked table of contents menu. Learners can bookmark specific pages in the reading materials. The viewing area can be adjusted to full screen view.
24
CPIM Learning System Delivery Formats
The CPIM Learning System will support two different delivery modes, based on audience needs: (1) Self-Study and (2) Instructor-led. Online features that are available will vary to accommodate the delivery format. Feature: (by Part) Self-Study Version Instructor-led Announcements Class Roster “Ask the Instructor” Threaded Discussions Pretest Embedded e-Reader Section Quizzes Posttest Practice Exam Instructional Videos Interactive Case Studies Glossary/Flashcards Resource Center Partners will be offered instructor-led version, to support blended learning opportunities.
25
Announcements This is the first page a student will see IF they are enrolled in an instructor led class, new announcements are colored in gold Instructors can draft announcements and post them at any time. You can pre-write announcements and use them for each class and “tweak them”. You can use this space to post additional videos and activities. No push notifications, No attachment capabilities, but you can link to documents and host them somewhere like Dropbox or for corporate, an internal space—really customize the learning by your cohort this way Give guidance for the “open” discussion topics in the Learning System
26
Class Roster Build Social Learning Community with Class Roster
For instructor-led courses, a class roster feature will be enabled in the Learning System to drive engagement and support networking. Students can set up an online profile for their Learning System account, which includes the ability to upload a photo and create a bio. Profile information is viewable to other enrollees of the course, as well as the instructor. Students can view other students in the session by clicking on the class roster icon in the left navigation toolbar (visible from every screen).
27
STUDY: Discussion Activities
Discussion activities are pre-curated based on the learning system content Students cannot see other responses until they submit their own There will be “open ended” topics for instructors to use as they please, such as noting in the announcements what you want students to share Instructors can monitor the discussions without participating, then chime in when it is appropriate Use this tool to encourage applying learnings to their own companies and experiences
28
STUDY: Ask the Instructor
1:1 private space between instructors and students Makes it easier to track conversations with students by session No push notifications, so you can schedule time to view these queries without filling your inbox Use this to host “live” office hours Students can ask questions in a safe space, and if you think it is a good question, ask to share it with the class anonymously

Keep your course momentum going
June – August 2017 Offer Legacy Basics Course and exam Participants take the Legacy Basics exam immediately Creates your Part 2 pipeline for September Participants can sit for: Legacy Basics until 1/7/18 Part 1 beginning 9/30/2017 Part 2 beginning early November 2017 September – December 2017 Offer New Part 2 Course and exam For those who passed Legacy Basics Offer New Part 1 Course and exam Keep up your Part 2 pipeline Participants take the New Part 1 exam or Legacy Basics exam (through January 7, 2018) Don’t let your CPIM pipeline dry up. Run the current Basics program now which results in the cost savings we just shared. Then prepare to offer the new CPIM Part 2 courses in September. This will encourage your students to keep their momentum going! Tell them to register for new CPIM Part 2 in September to prepare them to sit for certification in January What a better way to maximize company training dollars by using Q4 budget for training and Q for exam. Also don’t forget to revisit your former Basics customers. They may originally have found the 4 additional exams too overwhelming. With only one additional exam they may be more motivated to continue the journey. And keep that Part 2 pipeline building with new Part 1 classes in September & October. Also, if you are partnering with a local school they can be using Part One for the Fall semester classes. Again, it’s a great way to tap into the those year-end training budgets!

New CPIM: Go-to-Market Selling Points
New CPIM means new opportunities Customers welcome streamlined exam preparation. Gain the same legacy CPIM competencies and skills in less time. Serve different types of learners with varied course structures (flipped, blended) Exclusive instructor-led social learning tools create flexibility and foster community Sell the value of the transformed CPIM at the bundled price detailed in Marketing 365 Live! Webinar, the “Art of the Bundle” details this approach. Employers are looking for cost-effective quality training to fill critical skills gaps Quality training that is ready to implement with little to no effort. The streamlined CPIM program significantly reduces time away from work and increases speed-to-competence. Customers want most direct path between learning and improved employment outcomes without any wasted time, money or effort. So let’s discuss how we need to be talking about the total value proposition of having the CPIM certification, and that, with the bundled price, companies and individuals can save money and earn the certification much more quickly. A recent APICS Marketing 365 Live! Webinar with Roger Harris shows how the Colorado Chapter has been using this approach with the current legacy CPIM courses. They believe that going to the two courses will become even more popular with the companies that they market to. Look for the “Art of the Bundle” in C-Box. Sell the value rather than sell the class The new learning systems will also give the instructors the tools they need to deliver the critical competencies CPIM is known for while giving them the flexibility to build a structure and agenda that is best suited for their learners so they can focus in on what they need to learn vs what they already know. Another new differentiator with CPIM instructor led classes is the social learning tools. Today’s learners want flexible ways to learn and network with their peers. The social learning tools exclusively available through instructor-led classes provides them an opportunity to engage and learn from other professionals outside of class when it works for their schedule. The reconfig also opens new doors with your local companies. Time is money to employers. CareerBuilder's latest studies on the effects of the skills gap on the U.S. labor market is costing companies nearly $1 million annually. Matt Ferguson, CEO of CareerBuilder and co-author of The Talent Equation shares "There's a significant supply and demand imbalance in the marketplace, and it's becoming nearly a million-dollar problem for companies." Increasing speed-to-competence with the reconfigured CPIM will appeal to companies needing employees equipped with the shared common concepts and terminology that drive efficiencies and contain costs.
