Kerjasama dengan penyelidik yang terbatas disebabkan komitmen hakiki sebagai staf akademik di universiti. Produk tidak memenuhi kriteria untuk dipasarkan. Pemantauan berkala oleh pegawai-pegawai ICC. Projek terpaksa bergantung kepada geran luar. Implikasi: projek lambat dikomersilkan. Memastikan penyelidik yang dipilih adalah penyelidik yang boleh memberikan komitmen 100%. Penyelidikan yang dijalankan (yang hendak dikomersilkan) mestilah mendapat input daripada industri. Perlu memastikan produk mempunyai rakan industri diperingkat pra-pengkomersilan (prototaip, saringan produk dll). * Pendapatan dijana oleh syarikat Phyto Biznet Sdn. Bhd.

RESEARCH GRANT CHAMPION
Mempelajari selok belok geran yang mempunyai penaja atau tema khusus dan meningkatkan kemahiran dari aspek pemahaman keperluan geran tersebut. Menghadiri latihan berkaitan geran khusus yang dianjurkan oleh RA / RMC UTM, KPT, kementerian-kementerian, agensi-agensi kerajaan berkaitan dan penaja geran. Menyampaikan ilmu dan maklumat yang diperolehi semasa latihan kepada staf akademik PTJ masing-masing secara tersusun melalui taklimat, latihan dan penerangan berkala. Mempromosi dan melatih staf akademik di PTJ masing-masing untuk meningkatkan kesedaran dan kecekapan demi meningkatkan jumlah geran yang berjaya ditaja. Menggerakkan kelompok Research Champion dari pelbagai PTJ untuk mengembeling tenaga akademik untuk memohon geran apabila tempoh permohonan dibuka. Bekerjasama dengan kelompok Champion dari pelbagai PTJ untuk mewujudkan proposal bank mengikut geran khusus. Membantu pemilihan dan penambahbaikan permohonan geran-geran khusus di PTJ.
