A Brief Bio Born on October 25, 1881 in Malaga, Spain
When his family moved to Barcelona in 1895 Picasso enrolled in School of Fine Arts at age 14 At age 16, Picasso moved to Madrid only to move back to Barcelona in 1899 In the early 1900s Picasso moved to Paris and opened his own studio where he broke away from classical methods of creating art and began to create “Cubism” Died on April 8, 1973 at the age of 91

Fun Facts His real full name: Pablo Diego José Francisco de Paula Juan Nepomuceno María de Remedios Cipriano de la Santísima Trinidad Clito Ruiz y Picasso His father was a painter and art teacher Rumored first word “piz, piz” short for “lápiz” Picasso was a terrible student – preferring to doodle rather than take notes. He often skipped school to sketch around the city. He was married twice: Olga Khoklova ( ) a ballerina and Jacqueline Roque (1961-death) Picasso had 4 children: Paul, Maya, Claude, and Paloma (Paloma designs jewelry for Tiffany&Co.) Picasso joined the Communist Party after World War II
