DAILY LIFE IN SPAIN Domestic Unit. The typical household unit is the nuclear family, consisting of husband, wife, and unmarried children . Older couples or unmarried adults tend to live on their own Kin Groups. Family and relatives are defined broadly and inclusively. Child Rearing and Education. The aim of marriage in Spain is the birth of children. The kids are valued and raised with affection by the whole family. They are expected to listen to the adults, to understand and respect the rules established by them. Most Spaniards consider children´s education is very important for their future. Religion Beliefs Catholicism is the official religion for most Spaniards. Rituals and Holy Places The principal events of traditional and social life are fiestas and weddings.
