4 The Department of the Interior
The Department of the Interior (DOI) has administered the mineral leasing program for Federal and American Indian lands for over a century. Responsibilities are divided among: Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA) Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement (BSEE) Office of Natural Resources Revenue (ONRR) Office of the Special Trustee for American Indians (OST)

Our Mission: For the benefit of all Americans, ONRR collects, accounts for, and verifies natural resource and energy revenues due to States, American Indians, and the U.S. Treasury. 7 The ONRR Organization

8 FY 2016 Accomplishments Published the comprehensive Federal Oil & Gas and Federal & Indian Coal Valuation Regulations. Achieved a clean CFO Audit of ONRR’s custodial accounts. Timely disbursed $6.23 Billion, one of the Federal government’s largest sources of non-tax revenue. In conjunction with our State and Tribal partners, completed 645 compliance reviews and 128 audits. Data Mining efforts collected $60 million in additional revenues. Completed 153 outreach sessions and answered 14,625 inquiries from individual Indian mineral owners. Closed 100% of the OIG and GAO audit recommendations targeted for closure. Published the 1st and 2nd Annual USEITI Reports (December 2015 and November 2016). Disclosed an unprecedented level of data on the DOI Data Portal (useiti.doi.gov) including the publication of Federal production data.

DOI Bureaus and Offices co-located in Denver, Colorado in order to: Coordinate, collaborate, and share resources Resolve issues that impede oil and gas development, operations, and close-out on trust/restricted land Cooperate and share information with Tribes and Indian mineral interest owners The Indian Energy Service Center: Supports energy development Provides cost effective staffing options Promotes standardized and streamlined processes
