Overview on the History of Baden-Wuerttemberg Cooperative State University
1974: Foundation of the “Berufsakademie Baden-Württemberg (BA)” (University of Cooperative Education) 1982: The start-up period is finished, the BA now has 8 different locations 1989: 15 years after foundation: Over students, more than “dual partners” 2006: The BA system is transformed from diploma into bachelor degree programme 2009: The BA is converted into the “Duale Hochschule Baden-Württemberg (DHBW)” (Baden-Wuerttemberg Cooperative State University)

Important changes: New organizational structure with new central bodies - similar to US state university system Dual Partners become members of the Baden-Wuerttemberg Cooperative State University DHBW becomes Baden Wuerttemberg’s largest University with ca students in 2014/15 Cooperative Research / Executive Master Degree Programmes / Research

Accreditation and Quality Assurance
Since 2006 all degree programs accredited by ZEvA (Zentrale Evaluations- und Akkreditierungsagentur Hannover) Use of European Credit Transfer System – ECTS credit points (1 ECTS credit point = 30 hours of workload) DHBW degree programs have been recognized as intensive studies with 210 ECTS credit points (as opposed to normally 180 ECTS credit points for Bachelor‘s programs) Quality management system (ISO 9001) 8 8
