Financial Aid Total financial aid budget: approx. $1 billion
At Rutgers, cost of attendance has increased significantly over the last 5 years Direct Charges: tuition, fees, room and board (including meal plans) Indirect Charges: books, travel and miscellaneous expenses For undergraduate students living on-campus, direct charges are approx. $27,000 for in-state residents and approx. $43,000 for out-of-state students this year Financial aid plays an important role in student retention

Current system is outdated and inefficient Approximately 30 years old Does not utilize web-based technological innovations Not integrated across university departments Any changes to the system must be done manually Rutgers is one of the few universities without an integrated system
