5 COURSE GUIDELINES COURSE OBJECTIVES
developing your BUSINESS COMMUNICATION SKILLS (written and oral) acquiring SPECIALIST VOCABULARY (on selected business topics) developing your CRITICAL THINKING SKILLS (analysis, synthesis, foreseeing, deducing, selecting...) better understanding of the difference between written/spoken language and formal/informal language (REGISTER) learning how to use dictionaries and other reference materials Introduction Timetable Course Guidelines Grading Criteria Exams Course Content Study Material and Literature Tips to Remember

6 COURSE GUIDELINES COURSE REQUIREMENTS
REGULAR ATTENDANCE is obligatory (70% of classes) active CLASS PARTICIPATION CONTRIBUTION TO CLASS WORK (home assignments, research, project work, studying) passing the PROGRESS TESTS (2 written tests) WRITTEN REPORT on a selected task performance in a ROLE-PLAYED MEETING – team work passing the FINAL ORAL EXAM (ability to clearly and coherently discuss business topics covered by the course using the RELEVANT BUSINESS ENGLISH VOCABULARY, as well as express a viewpoint on a topical issue (advantages/ disadvantages, agreeing/disagreeing) Introduction Timetable Course Guidelines Grading Criteria Exams Course Content Study Material and Literature Tips to Remember

7 GRADING CRITERIA The FINAL GRADE consists of:
WRITTEN TEST (two PROGRESS TESTS or one FINAL TEST) – 30% performance in a ROLE-PLAYED MEETING – 15% written REPORT on a selected task – 15% ORAL EXAM – 20% CLASS PARTICIPATION and HOME ASSIGNMENTS – 20% Introduction Timetable Course Guidelines Grading Criteria Exams Course Content Study Material and Literature Tips to Remember

8 TWO EXAM OPTIONS OPTION 1 (before regular exam dates)
