Looking after your teeth is very important, you will only ever get two sets. We need to keep them healthy so that they can last a lifetime. LO: To know how to look after our teeth

If you do not look after your teeth properly, germs will build up in your mouth to make plaque. Plaque sticks to your teeth, if you don’t get rid of the plaque by brushing you might get small holes in your teeth called cavities. LO: To know how to look after our teeth

Watch the picture on the screen. This shows what can happen to your teeth if you do not look after them properly. This is called tooth decay. If you eat too many sweet things or do not brush your teeth as often as you should this is what can happen. LO: To know how to look after our teeth

6 How can we take care of our teeth?
A dentist needs to check our teeth regularly to make sure they are growing properly and that you are looking after them. LO: To know how to look after our teeth

We cut down on the sweet things we eat and eat healthier things like vegetables. Sugar can cause a lot of tooth decay. LO: To know how to look after our teeth

Drinking water after you eat can help move the bits that get left on your teeth and in your mouth. Fizzy drinks and juices are not as good because they contain sugar! LO: To know how to look after our teeth

Brushing our teeth at least twice a day helps keep them clean and healthy. You should brush for at least two minutes every time you brush! Brush after your breakfast in the morning and last thing at night, before you go to bed. LO: To know how to look after our teeth

11 It is also important to floss our teeth.
Use the floss (wool) to remove the food (playdough) from the teeth (egg carton). Two good listeners can now have a turn. LO: To know how to look after our teeth

Rotational rubbing of right thumb clasped in left palm and vice versa. Rotational rubbing, backwards and forwards with clasped fingers of right hand in left palm and vice versa. 5.3

We can eat some unhealthy food but not too much. Eating lots of unhealthy food can make us put on weight, makes us very tired, can make us ill, and our bodies unhealthy. We should try to eat lots of healthy food.
