5. Application Deadlines
For All Cal. State Universities:
Application and Filing period opens Oct. 1st for CSU
Deadline is Nov. 30th
For All UC's:
Application available Aug. 1st
Filing period opens Nov 1st
Deadline for ALL UC/CSU is Nov. 30th, NO EXCEPTIONS!!

6. Out-of-State and Private Universities
Private and Out-of-State
Visit each individual school’s website for application deadlines
When in doubt … Contact each individual campus for their filing dates

7. Athletics If you plan on playing sports you must: Register with NCAA
Register with NAIA
Contact the school you are interested in if you do not know which site to register with because there is a cost.

8. Letters of Recommendation
Provide a pre-addressed stamped envelope
Submit a resume: academic honors/awards, extra-curricular activities (sports, service, etc.), other accomplishments
Provide at two weeks lead time.
Letters of recommendation will be completed on a first come basis.

9. Where do I start? Request copies of Unofficial Transcript
Prepare your resume of extracurricular participation and accomplishments
Be prepared to pay application fees ...Debit /Credit card needed

10. Do Senior Grades Matter?
YES! College/Universities want you to maintain your work ethic, academic rigor or improve upon it during your senior year.
IMPORTANT: College/Universities reserve the right to withdraw your initial admittance to their school.

11. Resources
Check VCHS website for additional information on scholarships and other college related information.
Visit the College & Careers Center in the Student Services Building.
Set an appointment to visit your counselor to clarify any questions you have regarding this process.

12. College Application Timeline
Highlighted times:
October: Ask for letters of recommendation
Complete FAFSA
November: College applications due
May: AP exams
June: Graduation!!!
