Graduation Requirements: 46 credits-refer to sheet for specifics Course planning for Senior year Plan for graduation requirements yet to be completed (English) CAPP/AP/Transcripted Credit (refer to handout) 4th year of Science and Math encouraged Explore electives – SOE, Youth Apprenticeships, Independent Study Balance is VERY important for Senior Year! Plan for extra 5 hrs/week of study per AP course.

6 Senior Timeline Events (refer to senior timeline handout) September
Attend National College Fair/ College Rep Visits/Visit Campus Senior Update Meeting Sept. 15- UW Applications first start to be processed. October-December Submit your FAFSA as soon as possible after Oct. 1 (Priority deadline Dec. 1) Attend the Financial Aid Night on Oct. 27th 6-8 pm in the auditorium Oct. 1: Application process starts at WCTC Retake ACT if needed Know your college specific deadline January –March Senior Scholarship Meeting – mid February Follow up with deposits(housing), placement testing

8 Senior Year: When You’re Ready to Apply
Senior Year: When You’re Ready to Apply.. 4 YEAR, 2 YEAR, OR TECHNICAL COLLEGE COLLEGE APPLICATION - the easiest way to apply to a school is through their website. APPLICATION FEE - this can be paid online with a credit card or a check (fee waiver) TRANSCRIPT – visit to electronically transmit your transcript. Username is student network username - Example: thomjen04 Password is 6 digit numerical student ID - Example: ACT/SAT SCORES – You send your scores - (ACT) or (SAT) **MFHS does not send test scores. COMPASS ACT OR Accuplacer - required for Technical College. APPLICANT STATEMENT – Part of 2 year or 4 year app. Not required for Tech College. LETTERS OF RECOMMENDATION – optional but highly encouraged. Required for UW Madison. Not needed for Tech College. Ask teacher and give them your resume. ** You can submit your application to most 4 year colleges on or before September 15th. Technical Waukesha County Technical College is October 1st.

9 MILITARY EMPLOYMENT APPRENTICESHIPS
Military Reps from all branches are often at lunch weekly to answer questions. Set up a meeting or visit local branch office ASVAB test – November 17th – 1st – 4th hours FREE ROTC, Reserves, National Guard funding available EMPLOYMENT Local industries may contact us in the Spring See Job Board See your School Counselor APPRENTICESHIPS Construction trades, Industrial trades, Service trades Options to connect with apprenticeships with WCTC (Waukesha County Technical College) and ABC (Associated Builders and Contractors) State of Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development – Handout is available

10 Paying for College SCHOLARSHIPS FINANCIAL AID
MFHS Scholarship Grid -available online, paper copy & Family Connections Menomonee Falls Local Scholarship & Educational Foundation – process begins in February of Senior Year Research other scholarships - *College of choice, Parent’s place of work, Church, etc. FINANCIAL AID Fill out FAFSA after Oct. 1 of Senior year (December 1 priority deadline) Grants vs. Loans vs. Work study Attend Financial Aid night – October 27th at 6:00 College Goal WI – Saturdays in November and January
