How to Apply 1: If you are eligible for the program, you will receive an notification with a link to the application 2: Begin by notifying your chain of command 3: Open the application, ensuring you pay careful attention to the instructions contained in the top sections 4: Complete each question contained in the application 5: Upload every item requested in the application to the drop down box at the bottom of the page 6: Ensure you click “Save” throughout and “Submit” when finished
7
Type the link from your notification into your web server, then select the application for the program for which you’d like to apply.
8
Click on hyperlinks within the application in order to access webpages and documents that will assist you in your application Review the material in the informed consent box, check “I agree” if you consent, then click “Continue”
9
Note that you should save your application often
Carefully read all instructions, and be sure to thoroughly read the relevant chapters of all reference documents
10
Ensure you print the Application Checklist
Ensure you print the Application Checklist. You should maintain a copy of this checklist in your personal belongings at all times throughout the application process, as well as the hard copy of each item contained within the checklist
11
Ensure each document you submit adheres to this naming convention – failing to do so could delay your application’s processing The NAVMC will be the first document you need to submit. Click the hyperlink to open the document, print and complete the page, then scan your completed copy – the next slide demonstrates how to upload a completed document
12
Begin by clicking “Save Draft” at the bottom of the page to save your progress
In the Attachments box at the bottom of the page, click “Add New” A new window will open with a drop-down box – Select the document you are adding, choose the file from your computer, and then briefly describe the document – for example, a proper description for the NAVMC would be “[Your Last Name] – NAVMC 11000” Click Save to upload the document
13
Note that your uploaded document now appears in the “Attachments” box
Continue completing your application – whenever you come to a new section, such as the “Tattoo Understanding” section, be sure to fully read the instructions for that section – note special instructions for tattoos that may require a waiver
14
Most sections contain explicit instructions at the bottom of the section detailing who is required to complete that portion – note, for example, that every ECP applicant is required to submit a completed Ground Contract, and that if they wish to pursue an aviation contract, they may also submit their aviation service agreement
15
Your medical submission will require you to obtain parts of your medical record – in order to minimize stress on your end, ensure you thoroughly understand what documentation you need and what tests you may need to renew before you attempt to obtain any of your medical items – pay special attention to the requirements for how recent each test must be
16
Provide a reliable email address, such as the one at which you received your invitation to apply
Once you have submitted all of your required documentation, click “Submit” at the bottom of the page – note that even after clicking submit, you may still return to the application and edit your responses, if necessary
17
How to Apply – Helpful Tips
Obtaining Command Endorsements is the most time-consuming step – start this step early by reaching out to your chain of command. You will need to upload copies of your command endorsements all the way to your CG. If you are pursuing a Flight Contract, you must initiate your medical paperwork early. Ensure that you follow the application instructions for how and when to submit your medical paperwork if you wish to go Aviation. If you cannot complete your application by the Board deadline, you will be rolled-over to the next Board It is your responsibility to ensure that your paperwork is up-to-date and accurate. Double-check all of your work. You should make every effort to submit your application earlier than the deadline in order to allow for flexibility in case of errors in your paperwork.
