The science of kindness-it’s good for your health
Giving to others reduce depression and improves well-being. Committing acts of kindness lowers blood pressure. Helping others increases energy. Doing kind acts for others reduces anxiety.
6
Being kind makes you happy
You feel good as a person more moral, optimistic, and positive. Serving others may produce the same sort of pleasure as gratifying a personal desire.

How can you show a Random Act of Kindess?
• Hold a door open for somebody. • Pick something up and hand it back to the person who dropped it. • Give a compliment. • Make someone laugh. • Say “Please” or “Thank-you”. • Offer your seat to somebody. • Give someone a book or magazine you think they’d like. • Ask someone if they are “ok” if they look upset. • Help someone who is struggling to carry things. • Stop yourself from saying something hurtful.

You can read our weekly meeting minutes on the school website We have been working on: Catering The new building Y11 Prom and year books We will soon be looking at: Recycling

Catering We would like a better choice of food at breakfast time A wide range of breakfast items will be on sale from this week, including cereal, eggs, beans etc. “Grab Bags” containing a sandwich, piece of fruit and a drink will be on sale from this week. We would like meal deals including a sandwich, drink and fruit/cookie for a set price We would like to be able to see the menus and prices before getting to the counter to give us time to choose Menus will be ed out weekly, so you can plan when you would like to buy a meal, and what you would like. We don’t like having to buy food as a full meal, we want the choice to buy items individually The caterers are going to look into changing this The grab bags will be on sale during breakfast time from this week We would like to be able to buy sandwiches and snacks before school so we don’t have to queue at breaks. They will look into this, and how you can be involved in choosing the themes Bring back theme days!

New Building Mr Naisbitt will look into this
We need somewhere to hang up coats in the toilets when washing our hands We need more kiosks to buy food so queues are shorter An outlet serving pizza, sandwiches etc. will be sited in the main hall. Short-term: opening the main hall for eating Long-term: Look into providing a covered area outside for eating We need more spaces to eat We made feedback slips that will be in the LRC from this week – please use them! We want more input with the LRC to make it work for us
