Social Brought together staff from all levels. Created a culture of engagement and sustainability. Found the potential to focus CALS facilities resources to improve the remaining greenhouse spaces for faculty research, teaching, and outreach. Environmental Work to decommission ~17% of the least-functional and –efficient greenhouses: 25,000 sq. Ft. Less heat and electrical usage will reduce greenhouse-gas emissions by ~2000 metric tons per year. Economic Will save $6,500,000 ($260/sq.ft.) in deferred maintenance. Will save $100k – $120k in annual maintenance costs. Will use $160k - $212k less heat annually. Will use $30k - $70k less electricity annually.
