RTC Core Measures Improve patient safety and reliability of care
Improve patient experience Improve staff wellbeing Improve productivity Improve patient safety and reliability of care: eg % Care plans completed to ‘standard’ Improve patient experience : eg % patient experience Improve staff wellbeing: eg * Staff engagement %, * Unplanned absence rate % Improve productivity: eg * Average patient facing time %, * Average number of patients seen / 7.5 hour day. Key message Measurement is the cornerstone of improvement – without having a baseline measurement of how you are performing you cannot demonstrate improvement It is important that, as a team, you identify some of the measures to display in order to demonstrate progress. These are areas you want to make an impact on. Core Measures For each of the measures above, RTCC has set some core measures that at the very least will provide you with measures of 1 or 2 things that will enable your team to demonstrate improvements and track this improvement over time. These are team level measures and will allow your team to make decisions about where and how they could make things better.

Improvements Well Organised Working Environment (WOWE)
Saves time. Range hours per week/team Workspace tidier Easier to find things therefore reduces staff frustration
12
Improvements Knowing How We are Doing (KHWD)
Increases staff morale Improves communication Brings a team together
14
Key Findings Completion of (WOWE Module 1) increases completion rates of other modules Some of the RTC modules are not applicable to AHP teams Completion of one RTC module can take up to 6 months therefore full impact will take some time to realise The main barrier to completion of RTC is time, staffing levels and competing priorities Sustainability plan in place to continue to embed RTC within AHP teams
15
Reflections on AHP Fellowship
Has allowed me to gain a deeper understanding and evidence base for LEAN methodology Given me confidence to lead on service improvement Experience of using LEAN tools in a clinical setting
16
Reflections Continued
My learning has had an impact on AHP profession AHP representation within QI team Input to education of AHP workforce Leadership programme Sustainability can be achieved by sharing experiences with other AHPs
