Appendix GEO-DIVERSE SBCs | ENTERPRISE TRUNKING

Geo-Diverse SBCs BENEFITS:
Each trunk group is mapped to two geographically separate SBC (session border controller) locations. This feature (included in Enterprise sessions) allows for the continued completion of calls in the event of network failure with one of the SBCs. BENEFITS: Auto re-routing to an alternate SBC when one path goes down for whatever reason. This occurs without change in quality of service. Enables your customer to reach you even if there is a disaster in service provider’s network Switch diversity protects your from a failure within the provider network. Sessions are split into two separate trunk groups and each trunk group maps to two geographically separate SBCs. Two trunk groups can be set up as active/active or load balancing (percent allocation)
14
Enterprise Trunking Customers can create and configure enterprise trunks, which are collections of trunk groups. Enterprise trunk users can originate or terminate calls through any of the trunk groups assigned to the enterprise trunk. Enterprise trunks provide routing flexibility and redundancy that is not possible with a single trunk group. Weighted routing Ordered routing Failover between trunk groups Transport Diversity – Failover and Load Balancing Can Protect You from a Last Mile Failure CenturyLink IQ networking circuit at the primary and the backup site and SIP Trunk service at both locations. It protects you from a last mile failure. All incoming calls will be routed to the backup SIP Trunk group in the event of the primary site failure.

Centralized SIP Trunk Deployment Model
ARCHITECTURE Provide a centralized trunking service at HQ by consolidating PRIs and POTs Branch offices reach service through the main site via their private QoS enabled WAN E911 or V911 services are still provided with local service BENEFITS Consolidation of voice and data at a centralized location Ease of management Reduction of PSTN access With the centralized model, PSTN access at each branch is consolidated at the HQ with SIP Trunk. A call for a remote site will be coming in through a HQ site and then is delivered to a remote location via customer’s private WAN. Benefits: Consolidation of PSTN access at HQ will reduce the monthly PSTN spending Reduce the complexity of managing multiple PSTN access and providers GO BACK TO FEATURES
